Hopefully it happens withina month, and we don't know, but there are alot of suggestions for change out there. I'd suggest skimming through the stickied posts at the top of the page.

Personally my feeling is, if the CU is any indication of what the devs consider an "upgrade" or a "revamp" (of combat in that case), I'd rather they just left us alone. They ruined both combat profs I like (er, liked) to play, to the point I am about to cancel my combat alt's account.

My thoughts exactly.

I'd rather see an entertainer biased expansion than a revamp. i.e. new content with miner fixes (i.e. the promised elite level buffs for example).

Those are the big questions Wilarl. If anyone knows, they're not telling. The only thing that the devs have admitted to so far that they are planning to do sometime, hopefully soon, is some kind of increased buffs presumably for advanced level Dancers/Musicians and that should require some form of interaction between the Entertainer and the customer. We don't know whether this will be part of an entertainer revamp or an Entertainer feature to be included in some patch. We also think they plan to do something about grouping and something about our XP requirements, though we don't know quite what or when yet. I think that's about the most that's known right now. Beyond that everything is pretty much speculation.

We had no idea this /covercharge feature was coming, so they are aware of things that we are asking for, though we never quite know which ones they will decide to implement nor do we usually know when they are coming.

Unfortunately the big AFK issue is also very uncertain. While there was a recent interview where a dev claimed that the ability to AFK would be removed by the end of this month, it seems unlikely at this point since the end of the month is almost here, and there has been no further word on it, and a large update coming which doesn't seem to include it. Still, if nothing else it at least implies that the devs are still working on it and may be close to a resolution. Many of us were beginning to think that the devs had abandoned their promise from about 10 months ago to remove AFK - especially given another dev quote from a month and a half ago (in a post that curiously enough I can't seem to find right now - interesting ...) that they were trying to find ways to encourage people to play actively and discourage AFK play but that AFK would still play a role.

Yah, the combat upgrade sucked and brought in levels which is not how I like to play games.

However, we dance and play music, right? That's why most of us took up these professions. The devs are not going to take away dancing or playing music. And, if we were able to get through everything else the past couple of years, then I'm more than willing to take a risk on an entertainer revamp in the hopes that something good comes of it.

I really wish some people would stop saying they don't want one because they're really doing a disservice to the rest of the community. I mean, the way some people post, they act as if they never want the devs to touch entertaining again. Maybe the revamp will consist of the things we want, maybe it won't. But, whatever happens, they're not going to take away the ability to dance and play music. Right now we have an almost functionless class. When we did have a function, we might as well not have had one because bots took the ability away from us.

Take a look at the smugglers. They've been through a lot too. Now, imagine if the smuggler forums were full of people saying, "the CU sucked, we don't want a smuggler revamp." Then guess what? They wouldn't be having discussion on some of the cool new features they might be getting.

My fear is that the devs will come up with some ideas and get flamed for them, instead of having rational conversations, no matter what the ideas are. And, if that happens, my anger is not going to be at the devs anymore. It's going to be directed at the selfish people who are too angry to realize that they're hurting the rest of us. And, I'd really prefer that not to happen. There's been enough in fighting to last a lifetime.

hmm...
All I heard was that certain changed will be made within the context of the entertainer revamp. Thunderheart said something like this.

Given that he is referring to the entertainer revamp while he didn't mention it before as far as I can tell and it was him who said it it might mean that there the requested changes will never be addressed and "the entertainer revamp" is an alias for "never".

But some postive changes seem to be coming with patch 17.
