Thread: Master dancer always

I had the chance to respec. I did... but I kept my dancing (and my ID).

I certainly won't be uber, in powergamer terms, but dancing is so much a part of my heart and soul. If I gave that up for the sake of combat levels, I wouldn't be the same person at all. My city (New Haven, Naboo), my guild (SWOOP), and my friends all support my decision.

Last night, the guild took me hunting on Kashyyk where we fought 81st level elite mobs. I currently have carbine skills 1 1 1 1, and I can wear the most wonderful set of Marauder armor. I was incapped once, and didn't die at all.

I still have my dancing, and I can go on high level hunts with my friends. Best of both worlds

somehow, I have enough SP to not only keep master dancer and master ID but also to be 4-4-0-1 rifles. It may be bugged so shhhhhhh don't tell too many people. I'm proud to be a level 34 when I have 2 non-combat professions.

I was quadrupile master (Entertainer, Musician, Dancer, ID) but I dropped all my musical skills and took up 4410 in carbineer. I loved being 100% entertainer, but I just really wanted to experience the rest of the game as well. I haven't played a combatant in over a year so I've missed out on a lot of things. I'll never be able to drop Master Dancer or Master ID. It's too much a part of who Freya is.

Even pre Cu I was saying how it was possible to be Dancer and Combat profs and still have fun post CU. I'm glad you have found it to be so.

At CL56 I am still valuable in a group, tanking and damage dealing as Master Pikes.

But give us credit forthe health and fitness levels required of Dancers and we could be more useful still.

I went ahead and did Grand Master Entertainer. I never was terrilby impressed with the SWG combat and I absolutely loathe dealing with the 1337 kids/Jedi that SWG has. Sure other games have them too, but here I have a choice not to deal with them. I'm happy with it...and I get my combat jollies from other games anyway.

i had novice dancer when i was a TK, and i dropped it for CM/doc, and i just picked it up again with swordsman. i remember when i started dancing as well. it was when i met my ingame fiancee and i was haging out in the cantinas alot. then when i was a CM ents were my favorite people because my mind was always at 1/1100 hehe. ent are some of the coolest(and kinkiest )people you'll ever meet

Huzzah to you!! I finally turn into 100% Enterainer and I don't regret it at all. It's nice to see folks who can make a hybrid work. I was worried when one of my guildmates said "Hey, let's get you some wookiee totems!". He killed the little bits of critters who came around and I was able to explore Kashyyyk some more!

Some other guildies were so excited I was out having fun that they came out, too! I had a whole party of people, even if I was disappointed I couldn't use the Myrdrill cave cantina as a real cantina. Now I have two neat shiny wookiee totems and a big white ball that will help me transfer right out of a dungeon if I need to do so!

One does not have to give up the very loved entertainer professions to go out and have a good time. Thanks for the great inspirational post.

I hear ya,

I tried all the uber ranged combat combos and they left me flat. Uber means squat to me if I don't like my character. I originally intended Threl to be Master Dancer/Master Smuggler, and that is what she's gonna be.

I think Dancer will be adjusted in the future, and I still have a blast playing her now, which to me, is the whole point.

I had the worst 12 hours of my life when I went full combat.

I quickly went back to master dancer though when the 12 hours was up, I worried the entire time that there might have been some bug lurking that would not let me return to my previous template. Luckily, it did.

You can very easily be a social class and a combat class, I have a levl of 60, with master dancer. Everyone thinks that dancer must give me some uber protection though, because I usually beat them in duels, I am thinking I just know how to use what I have. /giggle (shake the hips, smile, then spin kick and they go down ) Hunting I can take down level 70 creatures if I am careful.

I do worry about when I go Jedi though, since I have to keep dancer, I guess I will have to lose the combat. /grin

What good is combat anyway?

I'm notpositive who first coined that term (though I have my suspicions), but it is a really nice title, isn't it?

I dropped master dancer on my main character during the respec as whilst I love the social side of things, I felt there was no where left to go with it, so when I respec'd I kept novice dancer (and will grind the knowledge tree) but decided to move to the artesian side of things.
