No sooner do we actually get something usefull that rids of the buff bots then we get this stupid covercharge and the bots coming back, What is it with the devsm dont they think things through ?


Yet again Entertainers get shafted again

I'll be keeping an eye on this potential problem, as well.


Perhaps my worst fears are already being realized. *sigh*

If there is a dancer nearby that doesn't have a set cover charge, then the bots will make nothing. The entertainer revamp is coming and we've been told that there will be a better buff for entertainers who can interact with their customers. That means live dancers will have a better buff than any bot or afker. I plan to cross my fingers and adopt a wait and see attitude.

The removal of the mind buff and addition of the inspiration buff didn't rid my server of buff bots. If it cleared your server of them then consider yourself blessed that you had several weeks without them. The covercharge will make no difference what's so ever on Shadowfire. Those few of who continued on against the increasing numbers of bots will hope for a plague or a deathstar attack. Planetary bombardment from space is about the only method that might remove bots from Shadowfire.

Believe me, I feel for those servers who still have to deal with the bots.


But, I don't think the covercharge is going to do much good for the bots on my server. People went for the bots for convenience, and the majority didn't tip. Being a veteran of observing gameplay mentality, I think that the majority of players are going to go to a live player without a covercharge that is not spamming, as opposed to an annoying, spamming bot *with* a cover charge.


We are now more convenient than the buffbots.


For those servers that haven't gotten rid of them, I really don't know what to say, nor do I understand. But, I'd say keep the faith. The bots really *are* useless, and eventually your server is going to realize that.

If the buff bots are really going to do cover charges then, at least on my server, they're going to be outcompeted... by me. I don't charge.

Its not so much the mentality of other players, most of them are aware that there are usually ATK entertainers to heal there BF, have a chat,, indulge in a bit of fun RP. Its the attitude of the player that sees an opportunity to earn some easy credits, just plonk an entertainer bot near the entrance of the cantina and leave it to gather in what credits they can while they sleep or go to work.


The devs have just opened up another opportunity for somewone to farm credits while being AFK all the time. Sad but true

Maybe, just maybe if people played the game instead of worrying about what everyone else is doing, they'd enjoy themselves. In turn they'd be more pleasantand *gasp* people would pay to be in their presence.

Well, but at least we get a NEW! EXCITING! newbie entertainer quest with a reward that is almost as good as a pre-nerf melon.
