What I have noticed in playing is that the only thing master dancers have over a block one entertainer is variety of dances, special effects, and speed of buff/healing. Is this a correct observation?

Prior to the CU we had impact on the size of the buff but now it appears a buff is a buff and level of dancer only impacts on how long it takes to be applied.

Master dancer takes up a lot of skill points in a game where you need 24 skill points set aside if you are going to do the village aspect.

It seems like there is less difference in our area (entertainment including musicians and image design) for the advanced professions than there is in other base/advanced professions in the game.

What are your thoughts?

my thoughts are dark, brooding and generally horrifying.. oh.. you didn't mean.. never mind...

I think we'll see more in the entertainer revamp. Your description of the current situation if fairly accurate but I don't think that's the final picture for entertainers.

Yep I agree with Ikewe, you describe the currentsituation well but that should change with the entertainer revamp. Which hopefully we won't have to wait too long for.

The "Entertainer Revamp" is threatening to take on mythological proportions. We don't really even know if there is any such creature in existence. Like the unicorn, it might simply be a lovely vestige of some young girl's imagination. Or it could be more along the lines of "The Prophecy" that spoke of the "Chosen One" . . . and look how that turned out . . .

I've stated a few times that..while the "glamour" of a profession revamp might be exciting..a long string of progressive changes over a period of time would probably be easier to manage. It would make it a lot easier for us to test, point our where problems exist and suggest things they might not have thought of. But whether or not a "revamp" is a mythical creature, there will be big changes coming. I think we're already seeing the small steps leading to them.
