I still think it should be so but with limitations. It's short sighted to say that less people will come to cantinas. Remember you need two to tango in this scenario, one to go out with them and one needing to be healed. there would be just as many in cantinas as there are travelling in groups. I see no change, there is a really good discussion on this going on in the Entertainer threads.

I think it should workon some planets. How many of you are going to hang around on Lok on the off chance a party will come through?

And if you go with a party, what is the point of having everyone run back to the cantina, so they can hear you play, if you're accompanying them anyway?

I went to Endor, and had no problems, despite not having any combat skills and only 400 health. I popped away with my CDEF and did 25-50 damage; the critters paid no attention to me, preferring to focus on players doing a lot more damage. I had a lot of fun on this trip, and I would have had more fun if I could have been more useful.

For my two cents I like it just the way it is.

I think it would be good for the advanced planets as well. When you get the large PA's raiding, who wants to run back to the cantina in the middle of a raid when some may have some very serious BF? I do go to these advanced planets with a large group, and I dance in camp everytime we need to stop. There are very few entertainers who will go out into the field either. I just happen to be a novice doctor as well as a master dancer.

Healing the mind and body is my goal.

That is as intended. Does it suck? yes. But don't expect a patch to change intended behavior (unless they mess something up anyway).

That is intended and is a wonderful thing. Once BF can be healed in camps, the number of people visiting cantina will plumet. Even if it takes Master Dancer/Musician/Entertainer in a Master Ranger camp, there are enough out there to handle all the big powerful groups.

Healing on the advanced planets will only be possible in a camp since everyone will be able to have one.

Exactly. Nobody will ever show up at the Cantinas, because why bother? You can take care of everything out of town.

Please stop trying to make the Entertainer a combat-support class. Don't we already have enough of those as it is? Part of the fun of SWG is that you don't have to shoot at things if you don't want to.

Actually, I hang out on those tougher planets in the cantina quite a bit. Yes there is down time as the people come in waves, but they are always grateful to have a dancer there and generally tip better than the population on a noob planet. I more or less make my living touring the more deserted parts of the galaxy.

Sure it works. It works exactly as it needs to to make Entertainers who choose to entertain as a career actually useful. It works exactly as it needs to to make sure that going into a cantina provides a service, so that we have a profession.

I see the point, to an extent, regarding advanced planets, but those that can be built on (see Lok) already have player cantina's cropping up, and these will solve that problem.

Allow healing of Battle Fatigue in camps, and you'll see even more who pick up Novice entertainer so that they can hang out in their camps and never have to come see a professional entertainer ever.

While we're on that topic, I still cannot obliterate enemies by shooting fire from my eyes. I thought this was gonig to be fixed. That's such BS.

Why did you even think that battle fatigue would be healed in camps? It says in the rules that it cannot, so why would that change?

On the other hand, the rules do not prevent me from shooting fire from my eyes. I feel ripped!

Well if those people on Lok tipped enough, I would. But really... I tried dancing on Dathomir one time. There were quite a few people watching, (way too many to chat with), and I got like 50 credits in tips. You gotta know they were doing baz missions... and they tip 50 credits? F that.

I dance on Lok quite often, not for XP (maxxed out on that), and not really for tips - just to hear what's going on. I've picked up the location of the Kimo town, and several kimo hunting locations daily. If people are going Kimo hunting, point them in directions and ask for a tip.

I've found that people in cantinas can act as decent information brokers as well.
