Thread: dancer Master, musician
they need to add healing mind damage as one of the things to do once mastering dancer or musician.
yes i know we do already, heal the ugly black wounds in the cantina, however i mean actual mind damage, the sameway that doctors can bring back to life someone who is incapped. well as you should know, there is noway to heal someone who got mind incapped. i think is about time they let master dancers and musicians to take care of that.
it will really give us a place and at least will make us a bit more usefull. it does not make sense that you spend all the points to get to master, and get nothing once you make it that far! yes people i do socialise and entertainers are suppose to be a social profession, but i can just do that at yahoo.com chat, if im playing a game, i want to be as relevant as every other profession.
every other profession once master, gets some special things that make them unique. except us, they need to let master dancers and musican heal the mind damage while in the field. those of you who get constantly incapped and usually die because now there is no way to heal the mind, you will see how handy it would be that someone could do that.
Does it count that Musicians buff Focus and Willpower, thus increasing the rate of Mind regen?
I don't know about anyone else but it's felt to me like mind regen was cut in half about 2 patches ago. I don't remember it being this slow.
I've read most of the Battle Dancer thread, and although I'd really like entertainers to have better combat skills and better combat-enhancing for others for purely selfish reasons
...I do agree that it's not all that sensible.
From a roleplay point of view, I've no idea how the devs could justify a dancer healing the mind damage of a person in combat.
(It's not inconceivable that fighters might rally to the sound of battle music, but I can't think of a single thing in 'real' terms that a dancer could do. Fighters wouldn't stop to watch dancing, and they're not likely to hear or take any notice of any words of encouragement. I guess I could stand at the side of a battle and with my cheerleader outfit on
, but...hmmm..can't see that happening in a SWG universe).
But the scenario changes if that person is incapacitated and momentarily out of action. Then they *do* have time to listen. Then they'd probably be glad of someone to hold their hand for a minute and tell them that everything's going to be alright
. If the player is knocked down with mind incap, it's not too much stretch of the imagination to suppose that an Master entertainer might spare a few moments to kneel by the side of an injured comrade to say some soothing words.
In fact, in the heat of a battle, it makes sense for the least capable fighter to comfort the wounded. And even after the battle, if it's mind incap that's the problem, surely the person most likely to 'buck someone up' and get them in the mood for fighting again would be someone who's good with people and who's job it is to make people feel better.
So (only a vague, ill-thought-out suggestion at the moment, but...) perhaps entertainers could dish out a one-shot mind damage heal providing a) the player is mind-incapped and b) the entertainer is next to the player.
I think that would make us very useful in the field and yet not give us unreasonable 'powers'.
sheesh from a RPpoint of viewit's quite simple...camp follower :smileyvery-happy
