Thread: Bartender or Bouncer in Charge = New Skill Concept

This idea came from a different thread, but is a great concept in building more "law and order" in town and reducing PVP madness from taking over every location and setting. It also allows the occasional bar fight (nullifying previous concepts of no combat in structures), but not the endless rampages that happen today. I thought it deserved its own thread for a more fine tuned conceptual discussion:

What would really be good is for Entertainers and Medics to have a skill available only at Master levels and above (to avoid exploitation from dabbling PVPers) where you can achieve a "Bartender" or "Bouncer" for Cantina and "Master at Arms"or "Medical Center Security" role. When registered in a facility, you have the ability to /eject players who disrupt the place, and restricting their access to that locationfor say 30 to 60 mins. It would give us something more of control in those settings, and drive some respect and courtesy out of the goons. We can issue the verbal warning, and then if they don't comply ( as in Luke leaving his droids outside, or "No Blasters!" yelled at the scumbag by the bartender), they get ejected from the facility.

Maybe one exploit preventer is that the grouped entertainers or medics (depending on facility)have to have a majority toAgree or Disagree for the /eject to work on the targeted player. This way one or two rogue mastermusicians/dancers/combat medics/doctorscan't just roam in and empty the place. It takes the registered grouped majority to vote someone out.

Example: One person in the group targets the offensive player and triggers the /eject (with option to add text after the /eject command supporting the reason for ejection, ie: /eject Large Pet or /eject Repeat Fights or /eject Language) on a targeted player, then the others in the group get a window with the player name, text supporting the ejection request and Agree or Disagree buttons. Majority vote decides the result.

This is obviously a rough concept, but one that might also encourage more roleplaying if there is "risk" involved in someone's actions of calling an unwanted pet or firing up a flamethrower against theenemy faction members who are trying to heal and relax. Please spare all the replies on how this may not be "technically" possible, or that it will have exploits. Let the devs figure out how to adapt this concept, and just focus the discussion here on the application of this concept.

This is definitely an interesting concept but why not have it keyed to the group leader, not always a master level person in the group/area.

It sounds like a great idea. I know for one the only way I have had to keep some control in the cantina from those who are only looking to grief the dancers is to denyservice to them. hey I'm the group leader of my cantina most times so if I deny them so do most of the others and if anything is said outloud i usuallly have a few regulars who forcefully take care of the player. There is one problem I have been noticing though. Some of the other players are makeing the worst looking dancer they can then will come in and harrass the other players. I have had several people leave out for good and even have talked to me about leaving the game for good due to one person getting bored. The eject function would of worked great for people like that.

I only claim to be an angel....I never said ANYTHING about good most people just imply that...

how about they just add a feature that warns you if that target will give you TEF like Ultima online had that flaged you before becoming a criminal?
