As a pure entertainer char (Master Dancer/Musician/Entertainer with the rest in ID) I see the removal of the /AFK chars can have a plus - the price for buffs will rise

The disadvantage will be the others chars whining for buffs/heals. Even now with countless afk bots available when I travel I get tells asking for buffs or saying "please hurry back to the Cantina, I have a 500 BF" (I spend 99% of my time in twoplayer cities).

Imagine when this change takes place. If I so much as walk outside to stretch my legs - "where are you my BF is 500", "about to beattacked and I need buffs", "I just died and need healing ASAP".

I know Docs that dropped the profession cause they hated beingLIVE buff bots (i.e. "Buff me" - no please, no thanks - just do your job).

I'll probably keep the skills but it'll be annoying as hell going on a "shopping trip" and getting a tell every five minutes asking for my skills as the Cantina afk bots will be gone.

Overall I'd say I'm against removal of the afk bots. I make tons of money and have not a clue why others don't. Some complain they can't make money as they are standing next to a afk free buff bot... so move. Some complain they get no tips... so ask for some or set a fee. I imagine some people really have a money issue but it's so hard for me to believe when I'm making about1 million a month and I'm not even pushing it (just end buff asking for support). (Side note: How to do it - go to a large player city and stay there a month dancing/playing, you'll get a huge fan base and get rich even if surrounded by AFK players)

I like the idea being floated that live chars get a bonus. Force a user to click a box that can't be macro'ed for a full buff - otherwise 50%. Same with healing - dancer/musician can heal afk but at half rate of live one (manually add user to heal list?) Or the idea of having playbacks or a dancing droid - something that may do half rate heals/buffs but that only Master (or high level Entertainers) get set up and allow them to live a life outside the Cantina.

The ones that will really hate this change are the half-entertainers (some entertainer skills but also does lots of combat) - cause now friends/guild mates will continually be asking them to leave whatever hunt they are on cause they need healing/buffwhenno one else around to do it.

I like my skills but don't want to end up in the position of a Cantina full of wounded players all begging me to return when I'm out shopping

Wow . . . just . . . wow . . . you have no idea how long it's been since I've been faced with your quandry . . . at this point I have to admit that I would relish that attention. Even ina city with the probably the largest rebel guild on the server I haven't experienced that level of "neediness".

Although . . . last night, while partying with other ents on Tat, Roho and I were called back to town to buff one of our favorite (read generous to a fault/we love him dearly!) patrons. We ended up buffing about a dozen other players and finally had to shoo them away so we could log and get some sleep! LOL!

Ahhhh the good ol' days!!

When I had to take my title down to shuttle hop through coro, even when I had prebought tickets and no shuttle waits....

I used to stay up way past my bedtime, waiting for some other ent to come into the cantina I wa s in (Moenia, 99% of the time) so there wouldn't be an entertainer void when I logged... (okay, that was a dumb thing to do in retrospect, for a game )

/sigh

I miss the old days.
