Thread: So how will ATK entertainers function?

When I dance it is ATK. I use a looping macro to dance while I chat with the group, my guild, customers, etc. I use a looping macro to buff customers while I chat with the group, my guild, etc.
Maybe, I'm too flustered with all the anger on the boardsover this subject, but I can't think of an easy way to function as an ATK dancer when looping macros are gone.
Is the solution going to be as bad or worse than the original problem?

Just make a long ass macro and hit F1 every half hour.

Exactly, you can still have macros, they just don't loop for you. Need to buff? No problem. Just have a short macro that goes through a bunch of flourishes. When it stops, hit the macro key again and repeat.
If you are a master, you don't have to flourish. In fact, you shouldn't flourish regularly, it just looks silly and burns action. Just flourish every now and again. Plus, you don't have to flourish to get EH xp. Only Dance/music xp.
For getting dance and music xp? You have three options. Either have a frequently flourishing macro and turn it on manually a lot, manually flourish, or have a macro that flourishes less often(say every 30 to 50 seconds) so that you don't have to turn it on as often.
Basically you will have to play, and you will have to pay at least some attention to your dancing now. That isn't a bad thing. It might take some adjustment at first for some. But before long you'll have a nice comfortable ATK dancing routine you use while chatting and be fine

In the old days before recursive macros we did it like this.
Simple build a long flourish macro. Pauses anywhere you like to suit your purposes. At the end of it put a simple Say or TELL command. Whatever suits your personality. You can easily build one that runs a good while. When you see the end of macro SAY you simply hit the key to kick off the same macro again.

Hmm, true when I fight I don't use/expect a looping macro. Making bricks for buildings for xp is going to be more tedious for new architects.
You are right, we will have to get used to it. The only part I disagree with you is just because I am master I don't have to flourish regulary, that it looks silly. Depending on which dance I am doing I regulary flourish every 22 or 33 seconds. Any period longer would look silly to me, especially footloose. And I know of at least one person who loves to see me dance footloose in my pocketed shorts

Right, when I meant flourish constantly I just meant from an xp grinders view. Sorry for the misunderstanding =/ . For some dances, you do want to keep the flourishing going though(I just often avoid those dances or flourish into then out of them, but thats just mypersonal dance style and there are about 5 million other ways to go ).
).I imagine for those you will probably be able to do about 3 to 5 cycles through all the flourishes of your choice(depending on dances and numbers of flourishes) before having to hit the macro again. It shouldn't be too bad. Once this actually starts getting tested though, we'll be sure to let everyone know what the limits are, so you can start preparing accordingly

No. Don't use say or tell in a macro unless you really really need it. If your just putting something in to let you know the macro is done do something like
/alarmaddin 0 03.5 macro done
/alarmaddin 0 04 Macro Done
/echo Idiot restart the macro already.
So 3 minutes later(I'm not sure honestly if that alarm function excepts decimals like pauses do. I still use it anyways) you will get an alarm and a system msg saying "macro done" a minute later same thing and then in spatial you'll get the /echo msg of "Idiot restart the macro already."
Just as an example of course.

You can also do an immediate alarm sound with:
/alarmaddin 0 0 Message
That will trigger an alarm immediately, so you can put it at the end of your macro and not worry about length.

i would set up several long macros. My idea works like this.
If there is a max of 50 commands in a macro like i am assuming. /startdance exotic 4; then /flourish 1;/pause 10; times 25. make another macro that did /pause 250; then /flourish 1/pause 10; repeat times 25 again and make a macro that does/pause 500;/flourish 1/pause 10;
you get the picture, this takes more work to set up of course, but you set up alot of these if you trully had the time, and you can start them from the macro window by double clicking them. You could in theory set up a full 8 hours of macros like this if you were really determined too.
Of course this is alot of work, macroers have to put in alot of work to be afk that long. This is a temporary set back for a determined spammer.

If I ever find anyone using those demonic devices I will report them as breaking the EULA (you know the demonic drinking bird paragraph).

Correct.. or to put to put it slightly more polite you can tell them "Talk to the bird"
