Yeah houses seem to be pretty bugged,I often get told "you cannot see that object" and I'm like "but it's there right in front of me!!".

Don't know if this is the right place for this, but here goes. I just bought a large generic house, and every time I try to use the /movefurniture forward command it tells me "this item is not in the house". yet when i turn away from it and use /movefurniture back, it works which makes it a pain to have to do everything backwards. any ideas would be helpfull.

Oh man. What do you expect? You create a female dancer, run around in hawtpants, and then complain that people are hitting on you? And now you'll use that as an excuse to quit dancing.

Here's some ideas for ya!

  • Make a male character instead. Trust me, no one will hit on you.
  • Dance nothing but poplock.
  • See an ID and put on a few hundred extra pounds.
  • Put on some clothing. And I don't mean a fleshwrap. Try something like a grand healer's robe.
  • See an ID and have them move that 'age' slider alllll the way to the right.
  • When the expansion comes out, reroll as a female Ithorian.
  • Are you /licking and /flirting people? Stop it.
  • Run a macro that has you scratching at various rashes on a regular basis.

Look, all joking aside, if you don't want attention, don't roll up a cute female dancer and don't wear suggestive clothing like hawtpants. I'm not defending the creeps here, I'm just being realistic. I have a lot of compassion for the women who play this profession and have to deal with this sort of thing (while also envying the size of their bankrolls, of course), but my compassion stops with the people who dress to kill, and then complain when they get attention.

And my response wasn't to you.

Sorry if that wasn't obvious.

Fortunately, /lick isn't as prominent as it used to be in my reality but mild "stuff guys do" harrassment is a daily thing. Most of us who are girls have become immune to this sort of thing..usually by the time we hit our mid-teens. You may want to consider finding a dancing partner who's avatar is the opposite gender of your's. It really does seem to help a lot when other's think you are in a relationship. Of course, if your avatar is female and appears to be in a relationship with another female, this can bring in a whole new level of immaturity from the viewers that you may not want to deal with.

And what is it with the 5 second proposals?! I land at the shuttleport and before I completely load in some guy I've never laid eyes on before is down on one knee! Do they seriously think I might Accidently click the wrong button and say yes?!

Wait one moment...after re-reading the original post, are you saying you're playing a male toon, wearing hawtpants, and guys are hitting on you? 40 of them?

If so, I take everything back that I said and I'll simply ask what server you're playing on, cuz I want some of dat action!

I have never had this problem. No one seems to hit on my Mon Cal. Or my wookiee (well, except for the marriage offers from desperate male wookiees). Even my human dancer is hit-on free. I've had somepeople ask her - "why are you bald??? Put some hair on!" But other than that, nothing. /ponder /evilgrin

My husband, who plays a little female human HAS been hit on however. And has encountered other harassing sexist behavior. More at the beginning of the game than now though. I think guys who don't want to be hit on just have the worst luck in the game lol whether they play male or female.

Just remember that if you feel a person is still harrassing you, even after you put them on addignore, you can report them. No one should feel they have to put up with that kind of behavior. Someday they may do that stuff to a little child who is playing, instead of to you, and that is just wrong.

Actualy, thinking about it, one of my best experiences in game came from harrassment. A guy was harrassing a female dancer in the cantina. She was basically ignoring him and after a little while gave a hug to a nearby wookiee (as thanks for tip or a kind word I suspect). The harrasser got all upset and got in the wookiee's face about it, calling the dancer some bad names. The wookiee responded and in his responses we began to see that he was definitely grade A hero material.

He eventually got the guy and his friend out of the cantina and duelled them (all the entertainers ran out to watch). As they lay on the ground (TK KD) and he kicked the stuffing out of them he repeated several lessons that they should learn:

1. Always talk respectfully to a lady.
2. Don't duel a TK Master if you are a noob, even if you bring a friend.
3. Always talk respectfully to a lady.

I went into the cantina several times after that for the next few days and saw a the same line in everyone's bio:

Wookiee hero: Ecaj

I've since adopted the same practice on my other characters for recognizing people who go above and beyond to enhance play and enjoyment for other people. Heros.
