I wasn't sure how many of you have actually seen these cantina's yet so I wanted to post to let you know what their like. In my humble oppinion.. they freeking rock. They might be a little smaller then I'd hope but they're plenty big for the most part I'd say.

Want to know what I love so much about them tho? They look like a real dance club. You walk into the cantina and come in from the front. Soon as you walk in your in sort of a loby/standing room area thats around a small bar that sits back against the wall. Looking in, guess what? Theres a real dance floor! You actually walk down a few steps to get to it and it looks like a dance floor. Then behind the dance floor is an actual stage for the band. Want a place to sit thats a little more quiet and out of the way? Your in luck because theres several tables on both sides of the cantina in their own little small rooms, but even in there you still have a great view of the stage and dance floor.

These things are such a huge improvement over the old cantina's that you see around the NPC cities. If any of you have seen them you know what I mean. The only one I've personally seen is one on Naboo, and it has a Naboo look to it. I'll be placing a theater tonight so I'll let you know all about them after I get a chance to check it out. If you haven't seen the new cantina's and want to, stop by Test Center! Just start in Theed, grab yourself a free mount and take it for a test ride over to New Unity city, you can find the city on the planetary map and its just a little ways NW of Theed.

p.s. to find the Jawa that gives away the free mounts, starting from the Starport in Theed, just run past the cantina and over the bridge, soon as you cross the bridge look to your right a little and you should see him. (and probably several others getting mounts from him)

I have not been on testcenter yet but I did find some screenshots on warcry of some of the new player buildings and I have to admit, the new cantina looks sweet

Yeah, the picture of that cantina shown is the Generic/Corellian Cantina. The Naboo Cantina looks like other Naboo structures and same goes for the Tat Cantina's. So basically the one shown is the ugliest of the three, layout is pretty much the same, its just the colors are a lot nicer.

Thanks for the screen shots, I can't wait to place our PA cantina and start dancing!

Want to know what I don't like about these?

No back room. None at all. There is no private lounges, no kitchen, no dressing room, nothing like that. It's just one big open room.

aww.... but then where will all the illicit gambling, spice dealing, and fighting take place???

*nod* A back room would be good. Especially considering how many lots these take up--and how many sets of clothing dancers tend to have. Shouldn't need to have a factory just as a clothes warehouse!

Oh, but I still think it's great. Trying to figure out who I can force to hold onto the PA hall so I can set up a cantina later.

one thing to note: since a player placed cantina/hospital is considered a private structure, you can heal any type of wounds there (ie. i can heal health wounds in cantina, and BF in hospital) not too big of a problem, but slightly different than usual.

Hmm.. yeah, the lack of a back room is my one big complaint with the new cantina's, no storage space what so ever. On the bright side they did reduce the lots they take up to 5 instead of 7. But I still think thats too high for a building with 0 storage space.

Anyone seen a Player Theater yet? I think someone over on the politician forum said that the Player Theater has a back room for costume changes off of the stage. They also said that dancers can dance on the stage without falling off. Not sure exactly what they meant by this (is the stage just large or can you not step down off of it except at certain points?). I'm thinking maybe it's similar to the setup in the NPC Theaters. Can anyone on test confirm this? And anyone know if the stage in the Player Cantina works like this or can you dance yourself off of it?

Also, I forgot to ask... when you say no storage space do you mean that you can't place any furniture in the cantinas? If so, do they come with furniture or are our patrons reduced to sitting on the floor?

And they're only 5 lots now for sure? I'm trying to make sure I've got enough lot space set aside so that I can place the cantina in our player town as soon as we're eligible.

I own a Theater myself on TC in New Unity outside of Theed so I can tell you all about it.

It takes 3 lots. Which is cool.

Its an outdoor theater and the Naboo style is gorgeous.. pretty banners hanging down the walls on the outside.. soo nice.

There are two entrances, one in front for the audience which leads to the seating. (stadium style seating where it slopes up away from the stage so everyone can see well) And another entrance on the side that leads up to the room behind the stage where the performers can get ready. You can then walk onto the stage from one of two entrances.

The stage is not very large, but its good enough for most things, and no you can't fall off of it. The stages in Cantina's and Theaters have a hard edge so to speak, you can not walk on to them or off of them unless you use the stairs.

The problems with Theaters right now are.

Healing is broke outside on stage/in stands, can only heal backstage. (this is a known problem but they did not have time to do the coding necessary to fix this for the update, look for this to change in the future)

You can not place Nalgarons or other objects on stage, (Omni-box works) (this problem is known too and will also be fixed eventually)

There is no sign or visible way to display the Theaters name

So basically the Theater is a good RP tool and fun to play with, looks pretty and stuff but has no real purpose yet. Personally I'm glad they chose to include it for now even if it is broke.. its a fun place to do RP events at least for now.
