Greetins all you movers and shakers!

Now I'm just an old man, my hip don't work as well as it used to. And all this holo grindings got my authritus goin nuts. I'm currently on my 27th profession and I'm afraid its time to start dancin'.

Now, I have nothing but respect for the dancer community. God knows you're all a'sight for m'sore eyes. But I've no callin' for the trade. Nor do I wish to take time, money and exp from thems that're doing permanent like.

Now, I've read the FAQ up on this here board and its mighty helpful. But I was wonderin' if'n some o'yas might have a few tips for an old man, so I can shake it, get done with it, and get it out o'yer way as fast as possible. Any info might be o'use, but would certainly be appriciated.

Hey. Don't whine that the guy presented it in a decent manner. He read the faq and all. So he's not coming in calling us names, or asking the same stuff that's been asked over and over without even glancing at the faq. This is the reason the Faq is there. To help them not ask dumb questions. All Rakon asked for was some tips. Sheesh. Frankly I MUCH prefer his approach, thank you very much.

The faster they get in and out the less time they spend in the cantina. No, I don't like the hologrinding either, but gosh...

I KNOW people are going to be annoyed with me, but I'm one of the biggest Anti-AFK people out there so deal. They'll be there anyway, we can't get rid of them- we've tried. But we can help smooth things out.

Anyway- when you make novice dancer, learn the Knowledge first. you get more exp for the higher dances. Learn techniques after that- the effects won't help your exp gain, and if you have Knowledge 4 it goes a lot faster.

Then there is the typical- don't spam. If you want your character to request a group invite then don't have them say "invite me" every 3 minutes. Since groups tend to be there most of the time, they'll hear it. I think it's safe to say that the character saying "invite me" every 20 minutes to 40 minutes is pretty safe and it's not exactly spamming. (Making sure to add a /join command into whatever dance macro you use)

Spamming heal requests tends to annoy the doctors, especially when they just healed you.

Also, it makes the grind easier if there's others in the group to talk to. It really does. I'm currently in a group with several Holo-grinders who are all very decent and a lot of fun. And they'll also be At the Keyboard too for a larger portion of the time. It's a lot of fun to hve people to chat with. (Of course it's liek that on Starsider. On Ahazi no one says a thing. o.o)

So. Yeah. That's about what I can give you for now

Spam is the thing that annoys people the most.

Even if I lead a group, I will boot AFK people in favor of live entertainers. But if an AFK person has pretty much stayed "out of sight out of mind" (not spamming, not dancing on top of me or someone else etc) then I tend to over look them more. And if the group gets small I'll reinvite them, so it's in their best interest to add the /join into their command.

After all. The sooner they get their exp, the sooner they are out of our hair, dancers. ::sighs:: I hate to have to say it....

I concur with Bree: please, for the love of all that is good and holy, do not spam. I never knew what it was like to be annoyed to the point of wanting to chuck my monitor out the window, until I found myself in the middle of a cantina with AFKers all around me talking my ear off.
