Ok I might buy a droid. I like the avian one and the confetti. The others i think i'll have to see in-game to judge.

Thanks for the screenshots!

The foam and confetti are probably the least interesting of the effects, but all are neat and are going to require some thinking as to how best to use them.

One thing worth noting though, the electric fog, while my favorite, absolutely kills my framerate with all the particle effects going on. I can't imagine what this would do to someone's in a crowded cantina unless they have some sort of super computer.

Anyone know how close to the dancer the droid has to be? Like.. in a player cantina.. can we sit it down off to the side and trigger the effects?

Oh. I'm loving the Dancing Jawas for some reason! I wasn't too sure about that one, but it just looks so cool!

Good thing I don't dance in a crowded cantina then!

I'll try them and see what happens. Can't hurt.

You just have to be in the building. I tested this in the Fallen Star...even when I was out on the balcony area "outside", it considered me inside the building and the effects worked. The second I walk outside the door of the cantina however, it turns off.

So how long do these effects last? Are they like our own special effects which last a few seconds or are they longer/until turned off? Also how many/long do you get per battery charge?

Best to ask this sort of thing now before it goes live and everyone realises you get 2 minutes of effects before you have to break out the duracells.

On the droid radial menu, there is a "Effects On/Off Toggle". Under this is a submenu "Configure".

When you configure the droid, you get 10 empty slots. Click on a slot, and you get to pick which effect you want in that slot. When you select an effect you then get a popup for how long to delay before that effect goes off. You can select between 3 and 60 seconds.

The effects seem to last a fairly long time (15 secs or so, except for the avians). With short delays they can be overlapped.

I'm testing battery timing right now. With a 97% experimented battery, I'm getting about 10% battery life per 6 mins, which works out to exactly 1 hour before you have to recharge the droid. I don't think experimentation matters, or how many/how fast the effects go off, but I'd hate to say they don't matter before I actually test it.

EDIT:I just read in the droid engineer forum that batteries only last 1 hour bydesign. Experimentation just increases the# of batteriesproduced. So you'll definitelyhave to start buying batteries by the crateif you intend to use the droids in your shows
