Unfortunately... no. You're not doing anything wrong.

Healing XP is only gained if others who need healing are watching you or someone in your group. There is nothing we can do to generate healing XP directly... we're at the mercy of the battle-weary masses coming to see us. This can be the slowest part of the entire profession... waiting for the walking wounded to come by and watch us.

Yeah, that's just how it works. If you're full up on dancing experience...might I suggest frequenting some of the lesser frequented Cantinas for the healing exp? A smaller city like Moenia, or even an adventure planet like dathomir or dantooine will often have large parties of adventurers who would love to have a dancer available for healing mind wounds and battle fatigue without having to travel back to Coronet or Theed. I'd venture to say your healing exp could be higher in these places than in the full cantinas.

You won't have as many people to talk to during the slow times. But, I don't know if you want to be social or not. But, considering how many afk'ers there are in the big Cantinas, it's quite possible you might get more social interaction and make contacts from the adventurers.
