Threats in this game mean nothing in the end sadly
That's true, but the OP hit the deadbeat where it hurt: His guildmates.
I've seen quite a few guilds who care about their image. So they take it seriously when someone says, "Hey, Joe Bob here was being a jerk." I’m sure they’ll have a nice talk with him.
Other than the social ramifications of dragging someone’s name through the mud, there isn’t much you can do. It’s not like you can use force since people don’t have to accept duels. And the social aspect only works if he’s in a guild of good people. A guild full of jerks won’t care. And loners tend not to care unless they’re running a shop.
Actually, the threats do hold a bit of weight. Sure they don't HAVE to accept a duel. But the moment one of the opposing faction sees them TEF'd or overt the guy is toast.
The guild holds a lot of weight too. You honestly don't have to drag the name through the mud, which Sirii didn't.
Say he's rebel and being punkish. You let 10 imperials know "Hey. He stiffed her. If you see him overt or TEF'd give him a kill for me." ...it's putting a bounty out on him. Now you tell the guild. THe guild leaders have a chat with Junior.
With 10 imps on the lookout.... eventually the guy will get killed ten times. Or at the very least incapped. It's not griefing as long as the imps don't camp him and it's also reliant on the guy's covert status. If he gets himself tef'd or overt it means he's expecting to die anyway. It's war. .... and then there's the mafia. ::cackles:: do not tick off the dancer mafia!
Well call me crazy but when I was a Master Dancer/MAster Doc, I generally did buffs for tips to those who were nice. If someone was a jerk, I too called in reinforcements (for those that don't know - Master Dancer/Doc combo only leaves 4 sp). My good buddies (who were also regular customers) always had my back. I alway tell them -- be nice to the Dancer cause she may choose to not rez you tomorrow when the Imps have left you for dead ![]()
Alas, I had to give up Dancer due to me wanting to get my own revenge. I have, however, started an alt tha twill once again be a Dancer -- YIPPEE! I love being a dancer and these immature jerks just makes me craft some more Darwin Awards.....
