Thread: Uncertain if this is a bug or not

My inguild friends state that i should continue receiving dancer xp when my Inspiration buff reachs max.
But i dont. As soon as it reachs 180mins the xp stops.
if i stop dancing and restart immediately. I will get xp until i get the inspiration buff is maxed message.
Is it designed that way and my guild m8's are wrong or is it a bug?
(some guild m8's have said that even though it doesnt show i'll still be getting the xp. But that isnt the case either as ive danced for 2hours straight and the bar hasnt budged afterwards)
i'm only an apprentice dancer aswell btw, i havent used a single skill point yet because i dont get any xp lol
Any help appreciated.

It was working that wayfor me on TC on and off, but since it was pushed to live I have been getting both types of XP even with a max buff while in an EH zone (cantinas, camps, private structures).
On TC when this was happening to me, I could go outside of an EH zone. So, try dancing outside where you can't get an inspiration. Also, you get the XP bonus this way, so it's not a bad idea for leveling anyway.
I think this is a bug and not intended. Eshie?

I tried dancing near the Bazaar terminal one day and got no experience whatsoever. i had no inspiration either.
so i thought at the time that you only get xp in the catinas so thats where i went.
i guess im bugged to hell.

Could you be maxed on xp if you haven't trained anything? I might just be misreading...

It does sound like you're bugged. If you are flourishing, you should be getting both types of xp regardless of whether or not you are Inspired, being watched by anyone or where you are dancing (post pub 20), if your xp is not maxed. If you are flourishing and not maxed out, please contact a CSR for assistance.

I think you can get xp by dancing ANYWHERE, but inspiration buffs still need to be done in the cantinas, hotels, theaters, etc.
I have found that I get the extra xp from my inspiration buff if I dance anywhere that I can't give the inspiration buff.

Yup, both xp typescan be gotten anywhere but we still have to be inside the designated structures to give Inspiration.

If you've been in a mixed ent group (musician/dancer) you do receive some xp (20 xp) from theprof you are not doing - this is generally only while someone is buffing another player or a new person joins the group. This was on TC and has happened on Live. You will also see the additional 20 xp when you first start dancing as you are always self-buffing.
I haven't noticed the additional 20 xp when playing though.

nope ive got 990/1000 in the first dancing skill box
i tried dancing last night by the starport in mos eisley. didnt get any xp. (i kept checking the onscreen messages, combat messages and looking in the skill box to see if the total increased)
funny thing though... where did i get that 990xp from before i started dancing?? i havent received any messages giving me 10xp a time but i seem to have accumulated 990xp from nowhere. (it just suddenly appeared)

Ok, quick question. Are you flourishing i.e. using the /flourish #1-8 command? You'll get dance XP from insp. buffing, but the rest of it comes from flourishing. Check your 'Commands' window in the 'Other' tab and you'll see the 8 flourish commands. You'll want to drag those into your toolbar up top to create hotbuttons if you haven't done so already. Be sure to use these, and I think you'll start getting more Dance XP and also Entertainer XP.
