Pistoleers complain because Dancers can dual weild propsMessage Edited by --Qilue-UCW-- on 07-29-2005 10:42 PM
If you are referring to that thread on the Pistoleer forum, you shouldn't let that affect you that much. In fact, you shouldn't let adverse opinions on a forum in general affect you, there'll always be those who just flame you for the fun of it. Don't take it personal ![]()
And as for that "Why did dancers get dual wield when we didn't, WAAAHHHH!!!" debate:
This may sound harsh, but to most people, entertainers are a joke. We are the red-headed stepchild of SWG, we are thelowest of the low, wehave beenthe beggars of this game in terms of Developer attention for years. This has changed a bit lately, but people are still used to almost never seeing "entertainer" in the patch notes, especially not connected to new content (as opposed to bug fixes).
It has been this way for a long time: whenever (and I mean every single damn time, not that it happened too often anyway) entertainers got ANY meaningful content, the jealousy would emerge. Since we are the lowest of the low to some folks, this to them means that we should never get any Dev attention until they get it first.
No matter what little we get, you will ALWAYS have the "W.T.F.?? Why did Entertainers get something and I didn't?? I am much more important, spending dev time on them and not on me is an insult!" sentiments, and some people don't hesitate to express them in the strongest possible terms.
When you're posting on public boards regularly (especially ones with as many visitors as these), you need to develop a thick skin anyway, and even more so when you're an entertainer here and dare show your face outside of the entertainer boards.

Anytime any profession gets anything, there's always 5 professionslined up to complain that whoever got something got "fluff" when there are "important" changes that need to be made.
Don't let it get you down, it's just comments from people with a very narrow view of the diversity of professions that exist in this game. To them, anything that Entertainers get is "fluff" and "not important."

Poor Manna, he/she/it didn't stand a chance...
On a side note, I DO have a dancer, even if I don't play her much.

Ahh yes, that thread - less than two weeks old and already a classic
The guy who started that was a complete muppet and the best example of why the currentFS system encourages the wrong kind of player to go for Jedi (which isn't to say that every Jedi is like this, of course. Or even the majority for that matter - the problem is more that guys like this Manna dude tend to stick out and give the rest of their profession a bad name)
