howdy,

this question is for my female toon that i made master dancer with.

can i just have 4.0.0.0 in dancer and have a +75% mind buff that lasts 2 hours?

my partner also has a second toon account like me and has him at 4.0.0.0 in musician and his buffs last for right at 2 hours after an 8 minute /setperformandthis to me seems a little odd.

is the only incentive to make master just a meager +25% worth of mind buff?

if it is that would be great of course because i could drop a TON of skills in dancer {though it took a LONG time to master it}. hell.... i could have her not only go doctor for the buffs but also go CM for the ranged stims. lol

i do understand that this seems a little wrong though. SOE seems to not care for dabblers but if this 4.0.0.0 rule of thumb for a +75% buff is correct i see no reason to go master and waste so many skill points for so little a perk.

2 cents don't buy squat!

I may be wrong but, I thought buffing "stuck" longer the more you flourished and the higher the dance you did, relative to how long you danced. So in other words flourishing a lot on Exotic4 gives the most bang for your buck.

If that's so, then a +75% mind buff would work best under something like Lyrical or Exotic1 or 2. Which means you'd need the knowledge as well as the tech trees. But I am not 100% sure of that, since I got the knowledge before the tech, and most of it before the buffing was added. However, I know I read somewhere that the proper way to buff is "flourish non-stop on the highest dance possible." Now maybe this just means YOUR highest dance, in which case Novice D is all you need. But if it means THE highest dance then you would want exotic.

So little a perk? A Master Dancer has access to several new dances that a 4000 Dancer does not have. A Master Dancer heals more quickly than a Novice Dancer. And a Master Dancer buffs minds 33% more than a Skilled Dancer.

It all depends on what you want if you have limited skill points.

Do you just want to buff? Techniques.
Do you want a wide variety of dances? Knowledge.
Do you want to heal real quickly? Wound and/or Fatigue Healing.

It sounds like you are interested in just buffing. Then, you probably don't need Knowledge or the Healing trees.

That said, I am a 4000 Dancer. But I went for the pretty lights. The fact that I have mind buffs is a nice extra bonus.

Love Star Wars, but the few role-players I could find on the servers were outnumbered by powergamers who wanted only l337 l00t and mad skillz. I can't justify paying $15 a month to play a game by myself.
Still cares enough to interject an opinion, though.

you may want to sticky this post. I almost littered your board asking the same question. Thanks to all you dancers out there!

Chessack is correct. The dance you do is suppose to determine how fast you can get the buff's duration to max out. If they really can max out with novice dancer for 2 hours in only 8 minutes something is seriously messed up. That 75% buff should take them like 15 minutes or so to buff if their using novice dances to apply it. If its not then its not working the way its suppose to and will probably be fixed eventually.
