Hi there, I'm Vowe. Long time lurker, first time poster.
So, I've noticed a common thread running through many of your entertainer posts. And that is,entertainers areat the mercy of patrons' tips to sustain them, ifthey don't do other things to providethem with income.
In my opinion, that kinda stinks. Given that combat professions can go out and run missions for a couple hours and make a couple 100k, you're in quite a bind.
A lot of people seem to ask, how can an entertainer make money? Buffs shouldn't be the only significant means of an income for an entertainer. Not with how important their Battle Fatigue/Mind healing skills are. And many folks are content to utilize this benefit from Entertainers, sometimes without tipping. I've always tipped for getting healed up. But, from this day on, I'm going to do my best to single-handedly try and make a few lucky entertainers on Starsider millionaires solely thru my tips. And many will have 100's of thousands in their bank courtesty of me. Here's how.
First off, I'm a TKM.I can go run missions and make some cash. I'll make a few 100k in a couple hours time. I run missions for various important things in-game, like armor, food/drink, or for maintenance on houses - well, entertainers sure are important to me, too - they keep my Battle Fatigue at zero and my mind wounds healed. They deserve more than the usual small tips. So, I'm going to start running missions for entertainers.
I'll dedicate some mission runs to solely give away that money to some lucky "at the keyboard" players. If someone's AFK, their loss. I think it'll be fun to run missions for a couple of hours, knowing I'm going to make some lucky entertainer's day with a 300k tip. Or maybe 3 Entertainers will get 100k. Just keep a lookout on Starsider for Vowe Darkwave, and maybe you'll get a handsome tip
I feel it's time for me to "share the wealth." I hope by doing this, I can start a trend. In real life, there are always people at the local pub who are the big spenders - buying everyone drinks etc. It's time us rich folks in the game were more of the big spender type, rather than the miser holed up in their mansion a la Mr. Burns in The Simpsons. Besides, I want to be known as the "rich" guy in the cantina who tips well lol.
So, if you're on Starsider and see me enter a cantina, be sure to say hi back if you're not AFK. It could be your lucky day!
P.S. Sorry for the long post, but I just wanted to really express how important you guys are to me, and how much I want to help your guys' game be a little more fun. Also, keep in mind that this will *not* be something I'll do for every entertainer, it's all in the fact that I either just ran some missions for entertainers, or that particular entertainer really did a great job at entertaining me.
I also have plans to incorporate a game of chance into this, using dice or a chance cube. Maybe each side of a 10-sided die is worth 10,000 - if I group with you and roll a 10, you get a cool million. A chance cube roll pays out 50,000 for the color you didn't choose, and 100,000 for the color you did choose. Sound like fun?

Thanks Vowe. I think it's great a TK hangs around, even though you don't have to all that often due to the benefits of you prof.
You sound very generous and I think that's awesome! I'm on Starsider too and after I'm done one more level, I'll be in Cnet when I dance. Except I don't really need the money either. I can run missions if I need to. So you can give it some noob it would benefit more.
Oh and the dice game? I'm a gambling woman so bring it on!! Except instead of me getting the money, you give it to a person of my choice who's an atk entertainer or is being healed and can use the money. Deal?
Oh and Kit's not my in-game name. I'll send you a PM if you want that. (I have reasons for not having it in a sig)

You've no idea how good it is for us to see posts like your's, from players outside our professions. Thank you!

Agreed... it is SO nice to see appreciative posts from non-entertainers. Mostly all we hear is "lolz u ppl are so lame... hey baby ur hot, lets cyber lol". GOD, that gets old.
Thanks Vowe. I'm not on Starsider, but as a dancer, I thoroughly appreciate what you are doing for the dancers you patronize there. Also nice to see that you're encouraging more real play from entertainers!

Vowe, you rock.
We've always wanted some kind of cantina games, didn't we? Once again, leave it to the players to come up with cool content!
Now, if we could just get some of this kind of love from the devs before Star Wars Episode XIV hits the theatres...

Congrats to Panthu on Starsider for being the first recipient of what hopefully will be many 100's of 1,000's of credits given to live entertainers.
Kind of appropriate that she's the Dancer Correspondent
Perhaps some of you wonder what made her catch my eye. Well, like it or not, I'm going to tell ya. I walked into Coronet Cantina, and the front room was packed solid with entertainers - many of which were rambling about tips and heals and the usual AFK banter. I made a comment that those people really need to get out of that front room, it's ridiculous and after running into a wall of AFK'ers, I added the statement "stupid bots." I was met with a couple folks' responses of"eat it" and "stop complaining." Not exactly a warm welcome.
Upon entering the main floor of the cantina, the first person I saw interact with me was, you guessed it, Panthu (she very kindly tried to /comfort me).
As I'd forgotten my trusty chance cube at home (need to get in the habit of having that on me...) I wrote 50k and 100k on the back of two identical pieces of paper.I then flipped them over, and moved them around each other until I was confident I had no idea which was which. I then wrote "Bantha" on one, and "Womprat" on the other. Panthu chose Bantha, I flipped it over, and 100k was hers. Easy as that. This process, of course, was announced to the entire cantina.
Thanks for the /comfort, Panthu, and enjoy your winnings! Congrats again!
So, with chance cube in hand, I'm going to continue wandering the galaxy of Starsider and will randomly offer rewards to at the keyboard entertainers. You may not necessarily get a chance cube roll (for 50k or 100k) when I'm in the cantina or when you buff/heal me. But,if you're at the keyboard and make an impression, your name will getput in a hatfor a chance to win up to1million credits.
This will be done by using a 10-sided dice roll when grouped with the lucky entertainer whose name is picked out of the hat. Each side's value is multiplied by 100k, so a roll of a 10 gets the lucky entertainer a cool million credits. Emails will be sent to all whose names were in the hat, and whowas chosen to get a dice roll. You will *not* be informed when your name is placed in the hat, only when the winner is chosen. You've got to be live to have me put your name in the hat, obviously.
Please note, anyone specifically requesting to be entered in the drawing will not be entered, and if their name was already placed in the hat it will be removed. The point here is not the contest, but rather to entertain folks while at the keyboard. I will most definitely be usingothers to gather names for thedrawing - I'm not the only one who can get your name entered. I have a number of fellow players who will be assisting me, and will be looking for live entertainers.
So, get out there, entertain, and keep it REAL.
Thanks again everyone for keeping my mind healed and my battle fatigue at 0. I, and my friends, trulyappreciate it.

I love that you post in the forum here Vowe. Like it has been stated, its great to be appreciated.
I think I may have to stop into Starsider more often, I really do need anew wardrobe there.
But please don't mind the clunky bug stomping dances. Bringing up dancers in multiple galaxies at once does take awhile.
