Thread: Effect of battle fatigue

I did some experiments with diseases and battle fatigue. For those curious as to the effect of battle fatigue, and what we are healing, for diseases (and likely generalized to all wounds):

wounds incurred = base wound damage * (1 + (battle fatigue / 100)

(SOE really likes that formula, don't they?)

In other words, a master combat medic using a 100 effectiveness diseases will do to the target at:

000 BF: 200 wounds

100 BF: 400 wounds

200 BF: 600 wounds

300 BF: 800 wounds

400 BF: 1000 wounds

500 BF: 1200 wounds

Some might argue that this is not enough, or too much effect. However, in the "future of entertainers" thread, several people talk about battle fatigue doing not enough or too much. However, few numbers were tossed around to justify this. I thought I would provide some figures so people could defend their opinion.

(I am of the opinion that BF has a dramatic effect quickly, but this is just the personal opinion of somebody who starts looking for an entertainer at 50 - 100 BF.)

It should also be noted that as battle fatigue is based on all wounds taken, and as such, higher battle fatigue feeds back on itself. (At least theoretically.. Haven't tested this)

Actually, in my experiment, battle fatigue did *not* feed back on itself. It appeared that the fatigue caused from wounds was based on the base wound, not including the battle fatigue amplification. (What I mean is each of those ticks listed above would cause the same battle fatigue, 15 in this specific case.) This experiment was only related to diseases though, so it might act differently for different sources of wounds. (Or it might be related to the fact that the disease was only applied once.)

However, there are many other ways to get battle fatigue (I've come out of combat with 40 wounds and 50 battle fatigue before), so it is not clear exactly what causes battle fatigue.

I think many of us in that thread you mention didn't feel that people don't get ENOUGH battle fatigue currently, but we question how much of an effect it has. According to your numbers it increases the number of wounds a combatant takes, which I didn't know. It also decreases the effectiveness of any medicine used on the person with the battle fatigue.

However, even with these two effects (decreased medicine efficacy and increased wounding rate), a lot of people seem to ignore their BF for a long time, because they seem to be able to fight just as effectively with the BF as without. I think the consensus was that if BF affected accuracy, damage, or something similar (xp gain rate? ) combatants would be more concerned about having it healed.

At what point does BF level become unnaceptable? At what point does it start to significantly impair your abilities?

250 is when you begin to have detrimental effects.

As far as I know, once you hit 250+ things go down hill. Your buffs get lower the higher you go and any heals you recieve will be greatly reduced. Past that, Im not sure if it affects anything else.

Yes it does have a small effect on your defenses and some of your accuracy.

One day while killing Fambaas doing TKM all of a sudden I noticed missing a lot more and being hit a lot more from the combat logs. Looked at my BF and it was around 900 lol - I had to stop and find some dancing girls quick.

It also increases the likelyhood of you getting more wounds.

For example if you're diseased, the higher your bf, the more wounds you take from each tick. The easiest way to see this effect is when you disease a pet. Watch the wound damage increase when the pets bf is over 250, with each following tick there will be more wound damage than the previous tick. Get the pet to do a trick to heal the bf and mind wounds, you'll notice the damage from the disease per tick will drop.

The effects of battle fatigue in my experience is over 250 you: lose buff strengths, heal strengths, wound strengths, accuracy and damage output range.

it will also (over 250) decrease the amount of the medical buffs you get from a doctor...(the stats will not be as high)
