Thread: why do we have to register at cantinas now?

ok i loaded my dancer/musician today and immediatly tried /register, guessing that was the command after readingthe patch notes. a SM came up sayin gi had successfully registered with the cantina. Cool i guess, now what? whats the point of registering. i saw you also lose your registration if you walk outside of the cantina.

I guess you don't "have" to register but if you do, it will show up on the player map that there is an entertainer located at that cantina...therefore making it easier for other people to find you and get healing/buffs.

Yep.
Basically, walk outside the cantina so you're no longer registered(preferably in a player city cantina, with no other registered entertainers there).
Now, open the Planetary Map (CTRL+V, by default).
Double-click on Cantinas.
Notice the Moon next to the cantina you're standing nearby.
Now, go inside and /register.
Look at the Planetary Map and see how the Moon change to a Sun symbol next to your cantina?
This way, a player in need of healing or Entertainer buffs can bring up their map, and see if any nearby cantinas have any registered Entertainers there. No more continuous searching from cantina to cantina, hoping someone will be there.

I really wish that the update notes would have been more informative - most people haven't the foggiest idea what Entertainer registering does orhow to utilize it.
It's potentially very useful, I only wish the Devs would've had the foresight to explain what the heck it is, since it's been broken for as long as I can remember. It's great to at least have it in the Update Notes, but telling people something has been fixed in the game that rarely worked before doesn't help people figure out what it was supposed to do in the first place.
