Thread: A question about cantinas

Hello, I was just wondering if someone could help me out with a question.
I currently am a master dancer and have a cantina placed, but I have recently begun considering dropping dancer, I am really torn about this because I love the profession but I have been finding myself increasingly disallusioned so I am thinking about trying something else. My question is, if I drop master dancer can the cantina just stay in my lots or will it go poof as soon as I click to surrender master. If it would be destroyed, can I transfer it to another master dancer by using the /transfer structure command?
Thanks in advance for your help, once I know this I'll just have to figure out if I still want to dance...

As far as I know, the cantinas do not poof when you drop master - however, this may change at a future date (or it may have been implemented while I wasn't paying attention).
Because of the uncertainty involved, it would be much better to /transferstructure to another player. It is possible to /transferstructure to another player, so long as that other player has the requisite skill to place the cantina him or herself.
A little-known fact: master chefs can also place cantinas, so you can /transferstructure to a master dancer, master musician or master chef.
And now a word of warning: currently it is not possible to transfer structures that contain vendors, so if your cantina has vendors, they will have to be removed if you want to transfer it.

Is that still true? I thought there was a fix in 11.3 or 11.4 that corrected that problem - I remember being very annoyed becauseour chefhad deleted vendors to be able to transfer the cantina to me, and two days later the publish came out! However, I haven't tested it personally. Try transferring it with vendors frst and see what happens.

I just had a cantina transferred to me this past that has a vendor in it...
It's kind of a "dead" vendor though as I'm pretty sure the player that placed it was rerolled so who knows why it's still there and maybe a working vendor is a different issue.

Our city's last master dancer dropped her master boxwhile she shuffles some other skills around, and the cantina is still there with her as the owner. No problems yet....

I had a cantina transferred to me with 6 active vendors in it. There were no problems with the transfer or with the vendors. They were all moved soon after, but didn't affect the transfer one way or another. This was about two weeks ago.
