Big thanks to all of those Starsider musicians and dancers who provided quotes:

Factor 4: Eye Candy & Underwear Dancers

One of the most terrifying sights in the game has got to be seeing someone shaking it all about in their underwear. Now the white male undershirt look can work when paired with a snazzy pair of pants, but when paired with voluminous white boxers…scary! In my mind’s eye white soccer socks would complete the look. As for female underwear dancers…big baggy panties and a white cotton bra…enough said… The image literally makes me shudder at my keyboard.

So what motivates these poor desperate dancers to strip down to their underwear? Knowing that showing some skin would attract attention, and not being able to afford a skin wrap yet, they remember Philosophy 101 and figure…

Underwear = Skin
Skin = Cash

therefore…
Underwear = Cash!!

Well I'm a real girl and I know I'm not alone in not wanting to see a guy in hot pants, real or otherwise I just think it looks icky. I also wouldn't want to see a guy doing an exotic dance because the moves don't look masculine to me. I do enjoy watching guys doing any of the non-exotic/formal/lyrical dances in tight clothes hehe, but don't go out of my way to do so I try to reserve ogling guys to my husband

I guess there really is no single formula for how to please girls. I do try to be conservative unless the person seems receptive to more. The bigger problem I have is that my poor little twi'lek is mistaken for one of the ladies so often. (Unfortunately that excuse didn't get me invited to the slumber party a friend had at her new house. *grin*) I spent some time with another dancer who is also an image designer, but found out later she was half helping, half fulfilling her own fantasies for what a twi'lek man should be. (Not that I'm not flattered, but it didn't fully solve the problem) I think I'll go back to her and try some more things. I thought at first it was because of the dances I do, but I've had it happen while visiting shops too.

Thanks for the interesting writeups anyhow!

I'm often mistaken as a female as well. Probably because I'm always in pink, but even in red and while not wearing dresses I get mistaken for a girl. Oh well, so goes life.

I've started not to care what people thing. I wear what I think looks good, what I want, and whenever. People know me it seems, and I get good tips either way.

And by the way, I can't wait to dance Exotic.

When you do get exotic, find a nice partner to dance it with.. Dancing exotic alone will just seem so hollow after that.

Thanks for the tip. I'm only 105k away from Dancing Knowledge IV. Only problem with dancing with a partner is I'm usually in Theed where a ton of LAMErs usually are(thought it seems to be getting better), or in Espa...where NO ONE is. At least, when I'm usually there, lol.

The way I figure it I ask the group if anyone minds, and suggest they /bandflourish off. If they aren't there to say yes they mind or turn it off, thats their problem not mine. Same goes for musicians and stopping the band to change songs.

Grab some people you like dancing with though. I've got a few entertainers I travel with often. We've started visiting all the advanced worlds to entertain. Two of us dance, two play music, and we don't care about xp.

Hey Kwee, if you think male dancers rong, what dances do you like to see and not like to see in guys? I've had such mixed response in this. Some women freak out when I start dancing exotic, or put on anything that shows more skin than a long sleeve shirt and slacks, others try their darndest to get me doing exotic in hot pants. Some think guys should only do footloose, poplock, and half of popular.

Of course, all the girls I know really are, are the ones who like more of it.

Question for you Kwee, if you are horrified by the site of male dancers in the boxers, what would you like to see?

Sincemy secondary character isa male dancer/musician, I'm kinda curious.

Actually I was about to post a new thread about what people would like to see males in.

And I'm not referring to the ones who insisted I try on their fleshwrap. (Despite me saying I couldn't wear it)

I find male dancers in slacks jacket and no shirt very attractive myself. I love partner dancing when possible but it isnt often. I get some of my clients to dance with me sometimes...takes a little coaxing sometimes but some have actually picked up the basic abilities just so they could dance better wth me. Hope someday they implement a special ability for couple dancing ( so would flow smoother). Anyhoo I for one hope they make tight jeans and shirts for you guys *wink* and keep on dancing I think you look great.
