Dancer Archive
Thread: Phew. Much needed reprieve!
After reading through this forum and feeling my eyelids peel back from the flaming and scalding... Not all the posts mind you, but a majority enough to make me want to dance a peace dance or something! ![]()
So I thought I'd start a good things while dancing thread. Please add your stories of fun things that happened while you were out on those dance floors of the Galaxies.

I was stuck on Dantooine at the Imperial Outpost, having spent the last of my credits to buy a ticket there (I never have much money at any time) and try my hand at hunting. Unfortunately, the creatures mopped me up with a couple of swipes and so I was stuck running delivery missions to make up the 1k ticket cost back off that rock.
When some guy just runs up to me and desperately asks, "Will you dance? Please? It's really important."
And who's going to turn down someone that sounds that desperate?
So I jived a little in the cramped little cantina. We chatted a bit while I flourished and then ended up gathering a crowd of about five or six other players, all watching.
When he was done, he tipped me 7k. 7k!!
I found out later that he was the biggest Rebel on the server and if he hadn't left as soon as can be, he'd have been flattened over and over until the shuttle arrived. I felt like I did my bit for the Rebellion that day.
Any other stories?
Friday, I popped over to Keren (from Theed) for an hour while waiting for the call to gather for a Hunt on Lok. The Theed cantina is usually very crowded, while Keren's is usually deserted.
So, it's myself, a musician, and another dancer performing for several people, when the other dancer asks me over group chat if I could teach Dancing IV, and if so, how much? I told her I could, and to not worry about it, I know how hard it can be away from the capitol to find an instructor.
A few minutes later, she tips me 2000 credits, and won't accept it back. Apparently, she had been trying to find a teacher for days, and had just about given up finding a local teacher...since I'd saved her some work and been nice about it, she insisted I take the tip.
Having learned long ago that to try to return a guft someone really wants you to have is insulting, I kept it. But it wasn't the money that was so cool about it, it was just the whole thing was rather...fun. And satisfying. ![]()
There. There's a story. ![]()
Last night I was dancing in the Bestine Cantina. Not much was going on. My guildmates and I were the only ones not AFK, so we were chatting it up with customers.
After a while, though, two Master Weaponsmiths walk in and start joking around and roleplaying as drunks. I decided to get in on the fun. I asked if I could join them. Pretty soon, I was dancing for them, talking with them, and having tons of fun roleplaying as a drunk. People would walk up and see two Master Weaponsmiths and start asking them questions about flamethrowers and the like and we would ask if they wanted to see the latest CDEF. Hehe. It was late, though, so I had to get off. I gave them a kiss on the cheek and left them puking in buckets. They were so much fun to dance for. I guess they had never had a dancer roleplay with them (my dancer is a spice addict and enjoys drinking... hehe). They were some of the nicest customers I've had.
And I must, say, I seem to make more in tips as a drunk than I do as an exotic dancer. Hehe.
"If I can't kill ya, I'll at least screw up your hair. "
