And Dejah looks *lovely* dancing it too!

I went up the knowledge tree because I wanted more dances to play with. Were I to do it over, I'd probably take 1 box in tech so I"d have some lights for variety, then go up the knowledge line.

Cool! Thanks for all the advice folks. Can't wait to try some of the other dances.

Yup, this is what I did with Dejah.

Thanks for the compliment, Velvet. :-)

I'm about 4k away from hitting Novice dancer and I was wondering what I should work on in the dancing skills? Mind buffing or new dances? Any hints from you master dancers?

Thanks.

You'll eventually need them all if you intend to reach Master, but if I were you I'd work on getting the higher dances. The higher the dance, the more Dance XP you get.

For your own sake, take the new dances, as you'll get better xp with higher level dances and have more fun. I took wound healing then battle fatigue healing and see sawed up the tree on those two. I saved techniques branch for last as, other than give you pretty stage effects, they do nothing other than burn action. Congratulations on reaching Novice!

If you are talking about the Technique line vs. the Knowledge line, the prevailing wisdom on my server is to go up the Knowledge tree all the way first. The reason is that, at the top of that tree, each flourish is worth like 50 XP solo, and much more than that in a group. Since the techniques give you zero extra XP, it will take much longer to go up the technique line with novice dances (26 xp each or so), than it will with the higher dances.

Of course, that's the prevailing wisdom because it seems to me like 3/4 of the dancers I meet are in some huge rush to get their skiill boxes filled in. I'm not sure why and they can't really explain it.

Me, I am not in a rush. I like my dancer. I like dancing. I don't care how long it takes to get master.

That said, I did the first technique box right away, and since then I have been going up the knowledge tree. There are a couple of reasons for this. First, the only techniques I really wanted, the light effects, ALL come in the first box (which actually is kind of stupid, IMO). I dont' really like the smoke effect so I couldn't care less when or if I ever get it. Also, the dance I wanted to dance most (Lyrical) is way up there, so I really wanted Knowledge 3. (And I just got it, 3 nights ago, after TWO MONTHS of dancing.)

Anyway... if you want to be more "efficient" at it you're best off going up the knowledge tree first, and then using the exotic XPs to grind the technique boxes.
