Not to cast aspersions, but a strip club isn't what most people would consider "good clean fun".

Having said that, I wish you the very best and success in your new club. I'm neither on your server nor female, so I'm afraid I will not be seeing it in person, but any player-run establishment being successful is a good thing in my book.

Unlike Pickles, I am female and on this server. First, I have never minded if anyone wants to set up a "strip club" (aPG-13 euphemism for houses of cyberprostitution) as long as they are extremely careful about the age of their clientele. I'm a long-time vet of IRC channels, it's not a new concept. Within the modelof the player community as a large city (Holo's suggestion), strip clubs are going to happen. They're a byproduct of any communitymade up of humans. ( I even remember one female EQ player who charged real money toclients for her dirty chat services, and made house calls to your server! Kind of a 1-900-EQchat) However we may feel about these from a moral standpoint, they're a fact of life in SWG just as they are in real cities.

I've known of 3 other "strip clubs" on the server. One has folded now. The other 2 did a bang-up business their opening weekend and then most everyone got bored with the idea (plus it's usually the same dancers who work in these clubs - not ALL of them participants in the sex part). One of my dancer friends was working at a remote club near a popular hunting ground, and from what she tells me, the place is empty most nights. She made a killing her first night but hasn't seen much since then.

These clubs just haven't caught on. They had a novelty value at first but most players who are paying their subscription fees don't want to spend all evening cybering a dancer who might just be a 15-year old attention-starved boy in the first place. (Yes they are there, and I even know who a couple of them are) To be blunt about it, the best cybering comes from eloquent, creativeuse of the language. When so many players can't even take the time to spell "you" instead of "u" and have the vocabulary of a high school junior (not judgemental, that's what many of them actually are), I have to wonder just how "good" their services can be?

You can download IRC chat software and join one of the adult IRC channels for free. Why pay $15 just to see pretty graphics along with your sex-talk?

Ok, off of soapbox. I'm not interested in anyplace that calls itself a "strip club". Cybering with inarticulate geeks just doesn't get my motor running, but that's just me.

Reading the name of this cantina made my eyes bleed.

and one is left to wonder why people are so offended by things like strip clubs and yet they can beat, cut stab, mutilate other human beings without so much as a flinch in their demeanor.....also kill and mame animals too and set other people on fire with flamethrowers....some of you people's morale compasses are WAY off. leave the poster alone, if they want to rp a seedy establishment let them, I wanted to do it myself but time contraints and running a pa made it a bit difficult. more power to you friend.

For the record, I'm not offended. Just amused and slightly saddened.

As much as I agree with you on the relative merits of mayhem and murder vs. sex, I don't think that's the only reason most of us don't think these clubs are a good idea.

For starters, even the possibility that I might be cyber-sexing with an underage kid gives me the willies. It's not just that it's illegal (the FBI has a whole sting operation going on the Net to stop things like this), it'salso because I'm a mother with sons and daughters of my own. I would never want someone to lure one of them into this kind of situation.

Beyond that, I think we all have to think about how our actions impact the image of dancers everywhere. If enough players get the idea that we ALL engage in cybersex for pay, it's going to make the cantina atmosphere even nastier than it is.
