I just wanted to say what a great time I had last night in Theed. A friend told me he finally convinced his wife to play and she had started a dancer and would I be willing to give her some pointers.. well of course I would! I love my profession, even tho I'm frustrated at times. So, going to my house I gathered several outfits to give her (yay now I must replace those) said in guild chat that I was going to be dancing in Theed and sent a tell to Pris saying .. where are you ? Well the happy travelers met up Pris, Shi'ann, Vexool, Kylaa , Imulo (doctor friend), Zertal (medic friend) we got buffed, exchanged clothing and proceeded inside. Indecent joined us making 3 novice dancers and 3 masters and we had many more folks jump into the group during the evening. We even were wearing similar outfits in different colors. Doing basic synchronized where the novices alternated doing band flo's for the exp, then changing it up where they did one dance and we did another synchronized it was a blast.

I know this was but one night, but it sure brought back the memories of the old days, sure there were a few afk folks but I think we showed what real entertaining is about, playing together, talking to each other, tutoring and interacting with our patrons.

On a side note the entertainer channel (ent) was up and Pris said she starts it first thing when she logs on...so I guess what I'm saying is if you miss the old days like I do let's try to do this more often, join the ent channel I'm willing to travel I know others are too...just ask us we'll come visit

The most interesting thing for me was the comments wegot, regarding how nice it was to see entertainers again, how good we all looked together, how some folks had never seen synchronized dancing (sadness), one guys comment was geez I just came in to get my bf healed (he was there for at least an hour)

I dunno if this is a sign of the times, If us "old timers" are just not willing to give up or if it was a "fluke" but whatever...It was thoroughly enjoyable.

I wish I would have been on your server last night!

A group of live Ents is a blast!

Idont think it was a fluke either. A lone Ent can getdiscouraged, but a group of Ents can make magic! Keep doing it. Give the novice Ents a taste of the "old days" which arn't actually gone, just missplaced. The patrons love IT! Most around these days have never seen "entertainment". They think AFKing is all there is.

When a bunch of usEnts get togther I dont know how many times I've heard statements like,"You guys rock!" "your group is awesome." "Whoah, I didn't know you could dance like that."

This stuff makes it all worthwhile. Keep up the "good fight" on your server like I and others do on Bria. Some people, in their desire to level and unlock theforce sensitive slot, have forgotten the whole idea of this game is to HAVE FUN!

Take care...be safe

*Snugglesbear hug to ya Caly* It did bring back memories of old. Lastnight was the reason I chose the entertainment profession, you pretty much summed it up with...

"I know this was but one night, but it sure brought back the memories of the old days, sure there were a few afk folks but I think we showed what real entertaining is about, playing together, talking to each other, tutoring and interacting with our patrons."

As we all know, being part of a entertainment profession is a very social class. A profession that tries to interact not only with your group, but everyone in the cantina. I don't think, I know that we entertained patrons lastnight. Probably more important, we know as entertainers, we provided players what our profession is all about...not just healing mind wounds and battle fatigue, but entertaining them.

I love your last line Caly...

"I dunno if this is a sign of the times, If us "old timers" are just not willing to give up or if it was a "fluke" but whatever...It was thoroughly enjoyable."

I agree with Leivi, it wasn't a fluke. There are so many entertainers out there, just scattered around, just a matter of getting in contact with them. The only way I can think of aside from word of mouth is through the entertainer chat channel. I truly believe, it will get better for us entertainers . Is it wishful thinking right now? Most people, if not all, will say it is, considering how low in priority we are on the dev's list. However, I got hope. Hope that keeps my spirit alive for our profession, whether it be musician, dancer, or image designer. Also, I'll never give it up, because every time I log on, I have fun what I do by interacting with my groupmaters or patrons by...enjoyable entertainment.

P.S. Thanks Caly for lastnight, it really was a blast..I'm sure the next time we do one, it will be even better. Also, Leivi and the rest of the Bria entertainers, keep up what your doing. I attended one of them cross-server cantina dance crawling things on Bria about a month ago and you guys were awesome, lets just say I was more than happy to MC for you guys guys as L. Ficklestein..hehe. Take care all.

Hello to the dancing community! For those of you who know me this is Shi'ann Dinova the mysterious Twi'lek (thanks Pris! ), and this is my first attempt at posting to these boards so we'll see how much I goof this up. I definitely wanted to add to this thread, though, because this was a fun night. A guild friend of mine came by and asked me if this is how I spent my time in SWG, and I told him, "Only when I'm lucky! We rarely have get togethers like this." I'm definitely glad I got to be part of an active entertainer group like this one while I was working my way up the skill tree early on in the game. I don't know how many new dancers get to experience that same sort of community feeling. Gee, this sounds like the perfect opportunity to share a fond memory. /emote rubs chin and looks upwards reflectively while visual ripples and dissolves to flashback sequence.

I remember dancing at the Theed cantina one time in a group including Pris and Madhawk. A patron came in and watched for a bit, and started sending me some tells. I try to be friendly with all my patrons, but soon the tells started getting a little too friendly, and was starting to make me feel uncomfortable. I sent out a group message telling everyone that he was starting to cross the line with me, and Pris and Madhawk both jumped in without hesitating. Pris moved over closer to him and started trying to distract him with her own seductive ways, and if you know Pris, you know what I mean. Madhawk joined in and threatened to break out with his yellow body suit and start dancing if the guy didn't cool it. Well I got a few more tells, but the guy did back off. It's probably just a silly little incident, but it's one I'll probably always remember, and it's one of the reasons that I'm still a dancer.

So maybe this could be a good continuing topic, or maybe a new thread even. Does anyone else have any fond dancer or musician memories?

Sure, fun was had by all. For a little while there I was the only musician, just bandfillin it, cats. If it wasn't for dancers like thatat nights like that, I would have already dropped my profession. I was the green one rambling about lactose intolerance.

Other people should use the entertainer chat channel idea, on their own servers. Just make it, they will come. An active channel like that would make entertaining on a remote rim world cantina toleratable.
