Thread: Potential Dancer

I've been thinking of making a dancer character for a while now, both because it seemed like fun (ignoring some of the less intelligent customers), and maybe to help me get a bit better at my socializing skills.

But where would this be without a bit of a challenge, right? So, I made a character on Bria the other night. I probably should have picked one of the less crowded servers, but one of my friends has a character on there. Here's the twist, though: I made a male bothan. So, there goes my chances for any tips. But anyway, I'd be happy for some encouragement and/or pointers about dancing that any of you could give. I think that I'm going to disappear off into the dance school thread now.

Thanks.

I think the tips for male dancers is underestimated. I have never really had a problem with it. If you make the effort of socializing, you'll usually get some tips. Granted, it won't be a lot, but you'll get them. I get tips when I go to the big Cantinas because I'm one of the few that is not afk. People appreciate that and they tip you. And, I get tips when I go to the small Cantinas because nobody else is there and people actually "need" you. So, they appreciate it if you're there, male or female.

And, then, once you make Master...all you gotta do is go to practically any Cantina and people will be falling all over themselves to get to you for a mind buff and will pay handsomely for it. The last two days I've had rather long waiting lists and made a good deal of money.

But, most importantly, enjoy the process, socialize, and make contacts. If you're an entertainer at heart you'll find this to be a very rewarding experience.

Sorry for the double post up there. (Lei turns beat red in embarrassment)

I forgot to mention in my previous post(s) about the Ent channel. Its been mentioned in several threads and exists on several servers, but still bears repeating here. When you logon get in the habit of joining the Ent channel. To do this type /chat join ent If there is an Ent channel going you will join it. If not you can create it (anyone know the slash command for making the channel?) If you create it just make sure its not private. This channel is a fantastic way to keep in touch with the Ent community. Whether you need training, tips on the prof, want to let everyone know about impromptu parties or justfeel like talking this is the place to do it. There is strength in numbers.

Thank you all for your replies and encouragement. I've started down the twisty path of Novice Entertainer wherein I can do moves that half look like dancing, and half like I'm having a seizure. Well, it's better than what I can do in real life, at any rate.

Leivi, when are you typically online? I'd like to take you up on your gracious offer for helping a simple newbie dancer out.
