...who think that the game should be actually PLAYED!

It was good to see this guy get flamed by his 'true' combat peers.

It's funny also how the responses in that thread are all too familiar. Even with the /sit; /logout macros...

It's even funnier the number of Jedi (read - Hologrinder) that responded.

Wanna bet that those combat players offended by someone wanting to macro through combat are the same people who love theirbuff bots?

Okay, maybe not, but it wouldn't be surprising.

Absolutely. Some of them are. I'm amazed at some of the hypocrisy. I got into an argument with some people on the Kettemoor forums not too long ago. I am familiar with some of the people's posts there. And, yes, some of them absolutely love afk buffbots, but then come out against afk combat. Similarly, I've posed the argument about our feelings of uselessness. For example, many of us agree that buffbots make us feel useless and make us wonder why we bother playing if we can't feel part of the community. Most of the buffbot lovers completely disregard our feelings on this matter. Yet, at the same time, post thread after thread about their Jedi hatred. (and formerly similar posts regarding Combat Medics) Why? Because with Jedi (and formerly combat medics) many combat classes have been made to feel useless. They wonder why they participate in PvP anymore if there's a Jedi around. They feel they are becoming obsolete in a world of Jedi. IMO, it's the *exact* same feeling that entertainers feel regarding buffbots. And, they complain and complain about Jedi but fail to see their own hypocrisy. They expect entertainers et al to stand up for them in their plight but then they spit on entertainers for feeling this way about buffbots.

People like that, and the hypocrisy that is shown by them, disgust me.

If Drygo is referring to the thread I believe he is, we had someone telling us we had to be willing to compromise and meet all the l33t whomever people on their ground, yet at the same time he has fully automated doctor and entertainer buffs set up within his own city cantina so that they don't have to worry about finding "real" people during those so tough off peak hours.

But I was a big person, and when a day or so later I ended up in a rp hunting party with that guy, I didn't deny service him when I was dancing for everyone else who was going on this event. I noticed that his mind bar increased dramatically too after I finished, with nary a thanks to me. (Fortunately, almost all of my guild fully supports live players, and the only reason I went without a mind buff was because I didn't want to put us behind in time any more than we were. We had at least 3 Master Dancers in that group.)

Rayill is definitely a bigger person that I am. I absolutely refuse to participate in any events in that particular town or that that particular person is involved in.

PS. I know the person Rayill is talking about, and it's not *just* that person. That person just happened to be the most surprising and unexpected. There are many a combat player who feel this way, and see nothing at all wrong with their double standards when it comes to afk or feeling useless.

Honestly Drygo, the only reason I went is because I wanted to go on the outing with my guildmates. It was to be my first RP PvP type experience. Something I had never done. The person in question just happened to be there and be the "owner" of the area. It was somewhat unavoidable, but next time I probably will opt out of events there (after all, who wants an RP event ruined by FRS farming Jedi).

That's cool. I hope in no way you felt like what I said above is any judgment against you. I definitely understand the urge to be out there in the field, doing things with the guildies. I love doing stuff like that and hope there will be more opportunities in the future to do so. The person in question just "set me off" to the point where I'd probably just go and cause a scene.lol

I'm looking forward to participating more in these events with the guild. So far, I've been extremely happy withmy choice of guild, which took me 2 months to make.

Wednesday night is the typical guild hunt night, hun. Kinda sucks since I've got steady plans for every other Wednesday night, and that's one of my D&D games. I'm not giving that up. You do got the link to our forum where we keep the stuff posted, right?

hm.. actually I tried to help the poor guy asking.

I mean.. anyone helps the Music and Dance bots.. why
not the combat 'bots?

I like them... maybe they make people think. And change
the system so that _no_ AFK play is possible or rewarded.

Anyone doesn't support the Music and Dancer bots. Some people support them. You'll find that a majority of the vocal people on the Entertainer boards don't.

hehe

I am _strongly_opposed_ to any play by bot.

From what I read is, that many of the combat guys are
simply not opposed to Music or Dance buffbots.. cause
the are "needed" and "cool".

Maybe... just maybe if enough combat bots show
up, they change their mind and see how bad this is
for the profession they like.

And if not, maybe the devs wake up.

Its not that they need to change the program, they
just need to change the policy regarding bots, be it
buffbot or combatbot or craftingbot.

Simply disallow unattended gameplay. And then give the
CSRs some tools to get them and _ban_ a few.
This will send a clear message. And at least the public
ones go away.

Maybe I am just a little frustrated after seeing the Bots
of -EC- on Chilastra surfacing in every cantina...
