The mining outpost on Dant has become quite the hotspot on Sunrunner recently. One of my guildies was having me review some screenshots of someone's misbehavior, and I became annoyed when every other line was spam from a buff bott I'm all too familiar with. (She's been set up in my city during raidsdemanding tipsand threatening /denyserviceat atime when I and other buffers do it for FREE.) For some reason, I got really enraged, and decided to take a stand...I mean, at least learn to write a good macro!
I set myself up in the front of the cantina right in front of the mic and offered free +25 buffs. I did a pretty good job of keeping everyone out of the back room away from the buff bot. Eventually the only other ATK entertainer left me to go to Endor
and I started to get bored. It was the end of the night, and not too many people were coming in. I started to play with my mic, when all of a sudden I realized you can turn it on and off.
What in the world does turning the mic on and off do?

I would like to know any details regarding this, also.
I know you can turn the microphone on and off, and the speakers near the mic can be activated/deactivated (says "the speaker is now on and ready to receive a signal" or something like that).
My impression is that you can use this mic/speaker combo to play music (sorry dancers) and people will hear your music without specifically doing a /listen on you or your group.
Do these things work? Do you need to turn on/activate things in a certain order? /target the microphone? any ideas?
Does anyone have more info?
Thanks

As far as I know (having messed with the speaker/microphone set ups) they are for appearance only, and really don't do anything...

Maybe it is like NPC nalargons, where you can click to play them but it never happens.
Maybe if you get speakers for your house and a microphone (don't know if you can get one as loot, I know you can with speakers) you can set up a sound system so that your buffs are superior or something.

Heh...that would be pretty sweet. Even if not for buffing. Say you're holding a party in a guild hall, or even your house. You've got the band playing in one room into a microphone, but speakers are set up in the house so that whatever room you went into (with a speaker) you could continue to hear the band. That would be very cool.
Panthu, maybe you could make this happen? LOL

i have never been able to turn them off, Just turn them on over and over, unless my memory is off. If they don't have an off button, perhaps they don't work because the batteries are dead, someone turned them on it beta when they took out the off switch, thats my theory.

Yes they work. I always turn the speakers on then the mic. Anyone within X range hears you playing music.(or your group) I know it's up to 45m I've had people tell me it works farther but I'm not sure on that.

Hmm I don't think loot speakers work. As not all static speakers and mics work. And can you even get a mic from some where ? If you can I haven't found one yet.

So in theory you could set up speakers near the front door of player cantinas, if that's the case then.
