Hail Dancers/Muscians
Currently, I am aware, as a musician...if I am dancing with an instrument in my hand and someone starts the band up...I will play music and earn Dance Exp. Thereby, doing both at the same time.
My question, has anyone used this in their performances yet?
For example, someone starts me up as before mentioned. Will my Bandflourishes affect both dancers AND musicians?
This would put all dancers in snyc without the need for a serperate person running the bandflos (a lil out of step)
It would also sync the band and the dancers together.

Hmmm... this one I have never seen. I may try it and see what happens.
However, I would bet it is not proper behavior but a bug, and as such I would not expect it to be available forever as an option. So I'm not sure I would build any important performances around it.

Actually what happens is you become /startband bugged and aren't really flourishing in any capacity for long. The song flourishes don't affect you at all and band flos aren't working. Good theory but the bugged state you are in really keeps anything from working well.

Yup..it's a bug. And something you may notice is that you may not get music xp andyou may not hear your music flos. (I've not been able to get xp or hear flourisheswhen I've messed with this, although others insist they have)
My question, has anyone used this in their performances yet?
Considering it is unreliable and (in my experience) lends nothing but an unflourished base loop to the music, I'm not sure why anyone would want to. (I'll readily admit to being more sensitive to the aesthetics of musician as opposed to dancer;it is easier to fool the eye than it is to foolthe ear)

No. In my experience, flourishes and bandflourishes do not work when in this bugged state. (again..some have insisted to me that they do, however, in my testing it hasn't happened..your mileage may vary).

/Bandflo given by a musician does not effect dancers. Similarily, /bandflo given by a dancer does not effect musicians.
We have a group of musicians/dancers that get together and perform every Friday night. Two bandflos are working in the group and they have never influenced the eachother in my experience be it by running a bandflo marco or typing /bandflo and the flo number.

I did manage to play music while riding my Cu pa on TC5.
I had an instrument in my hand, got on my cu pa, and someone in the group did a /startband. I proceeded to run around Coronet on my mount, flourishing and playing music while I ran around. When I got off my pet, I could still run around and play music at the same time (not stuck in one place).
I'm not sure about sync'ing up things with the /startband bug, but it looks like you could set up a parade of musicians riding on creatures and playing music.
I kept trying to confirm that others saw that and heard it, and I think they did. It was pretty wacky.

Actually this is both true, and false. There are many things one could learn from reading Tiaga's old posts, and the following is one of them.
/bandflo #, by itself, will only affect whatever it is you are doing. If you are a dancer and you do /bandflo 3, then all the bandflourish-enabled dancers will do #3 immediately. Of course if one is in the middle of a different flourish she won't so you have to be careful how you do dancing bandflos. It is not like music where it is auto-synched (though I for one wish it were). The same is true for musicians. The generic /bandflo # will only work on other musicians.
However there is a second form of /bandflo, that is, /bandflo # (instrument), which plays a flourish for a particular instrument. Our band, Hyperdrive, uses this all the time. If you've ever been to one of our performances you will notice that there are times when most of the band is playing the "base song", and a single musician is playing flourishes. Often, the SINGER and the INSTRUMENT FLOURISHER are different. I'll let you in on a little secret -- the SINGER is always, always, the one controlling every single flourish of the entire band (with one exception, that being the "Let's Get Together" duet of Neeno and Dipligonai because, well, it's a duet
Now I already had known this for a while but what I didn't know, which Tiaga instructed me on, and which I use myself now once in a while, is that if a dancer is dancing with the band, and uses form #2, the dancer can flourish individual music instruments. Yup, it works. You can't control the song they are playing, but I can dance exotic and do /bandflo 3 fiz and the fizzz player(s) will do flourish #3 of the fizzz.
Now that's not entirely on-topic for the thread, but I just wanted to make everyone aware that your dancer can, technically, flourish musical instruments. The reverse, of course, does not work, because ther are no "dance objects" to flourish (you can't do /flo 4 dancepole, heheh). So a dancer can flourish musicians if you do it right; a musician can never flourish the dancers.
