Thread: OT but still....

I glow! As of tonight I am all shiney and glowy and it's not something I was working towards but whenever I get a new badge I just /checkforce and apparently I am going to get a visit from a geratric tomorrow night! So now I have to decide, do I want to go down that long Jedi path and have everyone thinking I only named myself after Aayla Secura? (I'm not) Being a FS dancer will be a waste after CU so I can't go that route....
but yay! glow!

I have glowed for a while. I've even been to the village once and started one of the quests. Man how very boring, read the scanner and try and find the target, kill the meat lumps, rinse repeat. I can't work on any of the FS tree because the skill points aren't there without destroying some piece of my template, which I like as it is. After the CU the points I'll have to use to keep TK means I'll have to drop the little bit of dancer I currently use for joining in the lines on occassion. So if you go for it I wish you luck but SOE is making it, with the increased skill points requirements and the inability to ever drop an FS box, a no turning back entertainment abandoning option for most people. Me I'll abandon entertainer on Elwyn when I quit sending SOE a check (which is looking nearer with every announcement lately).

Esharra and another character of mine on Chilastra (she's my secret character
) both glowed at patch 9..Esh was lucky & had afree unlock.Knowing how much I hate grinding, I've never attempted to fill any FS boxes but I've done a couple of the quests and found them fun (but I'm easily amused).

The Old Man stalked her for 3 days..I had a wonderful time telling him off for it.

All three of the ones in my sig are glowy.
Deri was ready on Patch 9 day and two whole trees she could fill just from my everyday gameplay. Dathora was kinda a combo. I worked to get her glowy, but I tried to RP most of it. Pirgam I got glowy cause my hubby asked me to (was his character at the time, I have since adopted poor Pirg due to player neglect).
Every now and then Deri goes to the village, turns in some exp, maybe gets a box if I feel like it. She'll likely never be a jedi, I really don't care much for em. Dath has never been to the village and will probably never go. Pirg went once...before he was abandoned. He won't be going back unless he gets re-claimed.
I find that in game, you should do what makes YOU happiest.

I got glowy shortly after Patch 9 because I like to explore and I like to do quests. I've travelled once to the Village to see if I had any free unlocks. I didn't, and so ended any FS I will be doing. I did not really want to be glowy, but I did not want to stop doing what I wanted to do in game. I only accepted the crystal because I cannot know that one day I may change my mind and have some desire to do that stuff.
You should do what you want to do though. If you want to do the FS quests, then you should do them. Hopefully we'll get some testing soon to see what happens with us with the CURB, which will help make your decision easier.

And as for going Jedi, well...I did it much the same way as you - when Publish 9 hit, I was almost ready to be glowy, just from playing the game normally. All I had to do was get one of the Warren badges and visit 2 or 3 POIs and that was it. The main thing is playing the game and having fun. And if grinding your way up to Jedi would be fun for you, why not?
For now you can just do whatever Aurillia mission in the current phase interests you and maybe put in some grinding towards some of the FS skills. A lot of them are quite useful on their own, even without going the full Jedi route. And then you'll see anyway if you want to keep doing that
As for me, I don't. I would have liked to open the 2nd char slot, but since that means not being able to drop Padawan on my main and wrecking his template, I dropped that plan again.
