Thread: Adding Dances?
Hello, ![]()
I was wondering if maybe anyone of youhave heard of them adding new dances and/or flourishes.
I have read until my face is blue and must be missing it, if it posted please let me know I am interested in reading about it.
Thank you for your time,

I havn't heard anything on adding new dances though I would love to see it.
They allready started adding new flourishes but it was a disaster due to the quality of the new floureshes being sub standard. They said they were hiring the same motion capture studio that did the originals to do it right. No ETA yet that I know of though.
It would be really nice to see some new dances.
It would also be great to have 8 unique flourishes for each dance.
I am sort of pessimistic on either of those happening in the near future.
Ooo Im glad you brought up exotic becasuse it has a wounderfull example of a transitional flourish, try this.
Do a little exotic dancing and then when your ready to do some boogie use flourish 7
Flourish 7 is a transition flourish, it is definitly exotic watch the body language, but it is also up temo.
Flourish 7 has your wiggle turn, now for our little demosntration wait till you almost have doen a 360 and /changedance popular. You will automaticly do flourish 7 in popular if you did it right and its a nice little belly dancer looking turn that drops you neatly into popular from exotic.
In conclusion a transitional flourish lets us up or down temo a dance to change to another dance smoothly instead of abruptly. Shure you can cover the change with smoke but I love trasitional floruishes and I say we keep them.
Yes we will be getting more flourishes and dances. When? I have no darn idea to be honest. Here's what I can tell you from bits and pieces of info I've gotten. They did a mo-cap session not to long ago and from what I understand some of what they did was capture more dances/flourishes.
Eventually (you've got to remember adding stuff like this and transfering it from the Mo-Cap to in game takes a longdarn time) we'll see the flourishes and dances added to the game although we may not see any new Dances until the expansion (they've gotta save something for it right?) However hopefully we'll see some new flourishes. But really I don't know for sure, this is just my best idea from pieces of info I've gotten, seen posted and a few rumors I've heard more or less.
Sultrina brings up a good point tho, I do hope there is at least one flourish with most dances that makes it easy to ease into another dance.
We need better transitions, not re-used flourishes from other dances that look out of character.
As for what Raven said, I want to address that. Combst characters get content added as new places to explore and new mobs to kill. Crafters get new items to make (like city structures, vehicles, the new armor) that equals new content for them.
Entertainers should be getting new dances, songs and ID looks. This is our content. We're getting bored with the same dances with the same flourishes. No, it's not acceptable to only add new dances and flourishes in expansions when the other professions are getting new content added all the time. Every profession should have content constantly added to the game, and mind buffs and reducing action costs don't qualify...that's balancing.

Other professions haven't seen much in the way of content addition either but I do agree with you completely. And like I said, the new dances we may have to wait for expansion on (think about it, this stuff costs a bunch of money for them to do, they have to save most of it for the expansion so they have something to offer us to make the expansion worth it to us so they can get our money, its just the way things work unfortuneatly) However the flourishes for our existing dances should be getting added as soon as they are ready, at least from what I understand, which is what I said before. (I could be wrong tho)
