Heh, gotta love that Sultrina.

Anyone who wants dance macros can find them with only a token effort.

The only reason to start a new thread like this is to provoke people like Sultrina.

So, please stop doing it.

Go to a combat class board and ask for a macro for killstealing and ninjalooting and you will see that this was a very friendly answer to a very offending question.

Read the thread for Jedi wannabes at the top. It's stickied and really hard to miss.

poplocksolo: /startdance poplock2;/flo 1;/echo 1;/pause 9;/flo 2;/echo 2;/pause 12.5;/flo 3;/echo 3;/pause 12;/flo 4;/echo 4;/pause 11.5;/flo 5;/echo 5;/pause 12.5;/flo 6;/echo 6;/pause 10;/flo 7;/echo 7;/pause 10;/flo 8;/echo 8;/pause 9;/macro poplocksolo

There is a small easy example of a macro. Best nope. This type of macro would be stored in a .txt file in your swg folder. You would then make a macro in game with /poplocksolo and name it what ever you want. You then /load "name of .txt file".txt and hit the macro or do /poplocksolo and off you go... The echo command is a useful one in that it doesn't spam the roombut sends what ever you tell it to echo to your spatial. Useful for when your trying to get the timings down for the different parts of flourishes so that you can work on /changed during flourishes and ... well it has quite a few uses and is great in that it doesn't bother anyone around you with /say spam

It can be altered to which ever dance you want but remember each dances flourishes have different lenghts of time they last. So if your wanting to use it for say.. footloose you'll need to time out how long the different flourishes take and adjust the /pause to fit.

And to add... If you are timing things out turn on timestamp. With the echo command it can really help you get timings down. That is just a very simple dance macro that loops.

If you want the best.. well then do a search and read up on different dancing helps. Changedance is a great command for adding different dance flourishes into your current base dance. Toolbar commands can be extremly helpful for clothes changing during a dance.

And of course if you really want to enjoy it and be try and be the best.. talk. Greet people. Talk to other entertainers. As much as it can sometimes look from the forums that they might try and bite your head off... most of us in the game just really want someone to talk to so that the game stays interesting and entertaining.

Here is mine, and all you haters stop trolling, you don't own the Dancers board.
Lately I have been using a simple flourish loop..."/flo 7; /pause 30; /ui action toolbarSlot12" this keeps me flourishing with no down time, course this only works if ya can get a good medic to keep you healed, but im only afk for 20 min or so anyways, and with the new reduced action costs I can go for approx 30 min as a Zabrak without resting. But basically you wanna max your xp over time without annoying the other potential group members with auto beg features built into your macro. So, pick a corner, and a group if you can get one, and go to town, with a healer all the better, happy leveling up, well at least to 4-0-4-0, the healing xp is a biotch, thats what im currently grinding in Theed on Bria, say hi if you want...

These macros are no better than the 750 macros already posted in this forum.

Someone please explain to me (using small words that even I can understand) why starting a new thread is any easier than just looking at the previous threads.

Well if they are to lazy to play a game they are PAYING to play. Why should they look up all thsoe neat macros when someone else can do it for them?

I just want to thank Sultrina in showing me, personally, how dancing without a macro looks so much better than with a macro. My dancesarefresh everytime and look much smoother. The response I've been getting is "Wow, how did you do that?". Ifeel that I am truely mastering my profession beyond what the sign over my head says.

1 - 20 of 1260 results.

That is just a search of "macro" in the dancer forum... most people new to the forums aren't going to wade through the 1260 posts to find good and useful info about macros. Now hopefully he does go and search through some of them to find the more useful ones that deal with how a macro works and how to make one. As well as the good uses and bad uses of them. But to expect someone new to the forums and most likely the game(at the very least new to dancing)to just sit down and read through all those post with who knows how many of them those post just being downright flames and name calling...

*shrugs*

And yes dancing with out a macro is great.. it does tend to get a little tough though typing in floes and changed's and clothing changes, and effects for hours on end with any hope of being able to keep up meaningful conversation with other players.

I'm still working out my dance cards and the different timing of each part of the different flourishes. Hopefully when I'm done it will be extremly worth it.
