Thread: So what is the point of the 15 sec delay?
Glenda
I am still not satisfied with the banal explanations for burdening entertainers withthe 15 second delay AND the 2 minute /watch-listen penalities. As I understand it, the AFKers are already macroing around the 15 second delay and the 2 minute for buffs has caused little changefor the buffbots either. Now we seem to have a stealth nerf (or a neglected bug) withapplying musician and dancer buffs at the same time and for the life of me I don't get that one at all!!
So the devs were all at E3 . . .but, you know what? I don't care. In my business you don't send an entire department on a mini-vacation and tell you customers to sit on their hands and wait for answers or satisfaction - and you certainly don't make major changes to your service/product just before you (in effect) shut down your company for a week!
You can't buff in 2 minutes - the patron has to watch or listen for a minimum of 2 minutes for the buff to take effect at all now. The minimum from there with 120 flos for the entiredance/setis 3 minutes 20 seconds (although I usually round it up to 4 minutes anyway).
I honestly don't know how or if there is a way to "get around" the 15 second delay; I'm not the type of person to hack a way to break hard coded rules. I've been told there is some way to, buthaven't heard specifics and I would not like to see new macros on the forums showing others how to bypass the 15 second delay since I feel that we should not break the rules set in place(as unjustified as it is to penalize the entire permenententplayer basebecause of the abuse of some temp grinders).

I buff a 100% buff in 120 seconds with 2 shots of BE stuff and just powerfourish with no pause inbetween. I have not timed how low it will go but 2 min is 100% buff for me. Do it daily 4x a day for my group krayt hunting.

I also have no idea how to get around the 15 sec delay.
Of course you get a 100% buff at master... the time spentapplying the buffisn't for setting the percentage increase, but the duration.
Next time you do a 2 minute buff, ask your patron how long that buff is good for. By all tests we've done, the minimum time spent buffing to grant the full 2 hour duration is 3:20.
As, Deila said, its not the percentage we are talking about. Non-masters can't do more than 75% (although I believe BE clothing and skill tapes can increase that) and masters can't do less. However, the duration is what is in question. If you can manage a 2 hour buff time for every buff you do in less than 3 minuted 20 seconds, then you are THE exception. As a master, I currently havenocontrol over the duration time - even with a longer buff - because of the buff bug. By comparision, the 15 second wait time is a mere inconvenience to the embarrassment of having to re-buff a patron, or worse, having them chose to rely on brandy instead of wasting even more of their time on a buff that still might not take! Now, with the developers refusing to do anything about an UI window (let alone self-buffs) until after their precious space expansion, and the lack of response on their part regarding this buff bug I have to wonder how long the "live"entertainment profession will be able to continue in this game . . . . or how long it will be before my name is placed on the SWG Dancer Memorial Wall . . . .
