Thread: This buff bot seem's impossible to disable. Please help!
This will only work for a fortnight, of course.

Download the free 14 day trial. Make a newbie character and run your macro to invite her. Every day, delete the character and rename it.

'annoy macro'
/invite buffbot
/pause 1
/macro annoy
That way it hits her with an invite every second.

That sort of buffbot doesn't bother me as much then, because random Joe who just entered the cantina isn't going to receive a buff from them.
That's just the trouble
... random Joe now enters the cantina, see's the buffbot message, realises he can get a free buff if he sticks around for another few minutes, and decides to wait. On top of that whole groups are actually coming to Coronet now just to be buffed by this bot! When free speedbuffs are on offer 24/7 why would they be interested in a real entertainer?
With this bot in my main cantina I have no way of making any income, and combat isn't an option for me... even with good armor, doc buffs and a pet I can only get 5K solo missions, and frankly I find the swg combat system boring. I -have- to make money in this game because I pay rent on a cantina and house every day, plus I throw parties where entertainment alone costs me 200K.
For the record, Candy' Cane the buff bot from hell is the reason I'm quitting this game this month. The swgdevelopment team doesnot deserve my hard-earned cash.Another master dancer bites the dust.

I wish there was something that I could say or do to keep you and other dancers like Ceta from leaving the game. I understand, though, even though it pains me to see so many leaving. I am not willing to give up yet. I have plenty of friends to keep my interest and enjoyment going at present. I can only hope that you will reconsider. We don't want more candles lit in The Edge of Yesterday Memorial Cantina . . . .

You're a sweetie Kirah. I am interested to seeif our profession improves after patch 10, and I'll be keeping an eye on the forums, but I'm not holding out much hope that an entertainer career will be worth coming back to
.
Here's why...
Even if all the entertainer bugs and bots and limitations are fixed I fear there will still be so few decent people left in the game that it simply won't be worth playing. We'll all beable to make an income from entertaining again but there will be no one left worth entertaining - the polite, friendly players, the roleplayers, so many have already left because this game just doesn't support players who aren't combat-focussed. I just can't bring myself to stick around waiting for my profession tomaybe be healed only to find myself entertaining 14 year old boys who talk in l33t and think /lick is the height of socialinteraction.
I have many great friends in this game, and a wonderful guild, but they're all slowly going back to games they like better, games with a more mature player base and a development team that promotes balance among all professions... and after holding out longer than most of them I've inevitably come to the same decision.
I really hope things work out for you (and for everyone who's staying!). Thanks for caring.
