Well..looks like I'm the new correspondent for us guys. I have to say, it's a bittersweet pill. Deila has done an incredible job for us and I hate to see her leave the post. She is a great leader, a fine representative of our profession and I'm happy that I can say she is also a good friend. She has assured me that, when RL allows, she'll be around here more again. Her red dance shoes are too big for me to fill so..as Dathora put it..I'll be breaking in my own.
This probably means that I'll have to behave myself a little better. No more trolling. What I post will be looked upon differently, so no more playing devil's advocate. However, I reserve the right to continue picking on Til & Javy.
So what can I do for us? I've done a few years of non-player time in the MMOG industry which has left me experienced in how to present player feedback. I'm a numbers person, not an emotions person. This is about Us, not about me. I will be giving the devs what you tell me to give them..no more, no less. So I need you all to give it to me straight.
I've worked on a private research project on the topic of applying participatory design principles to MMOG development. I understand that players hunger for communication with the developers. I also understand the valid reasons why the developers, more times than not, are unable to satisfy the players' desires for this. Unfortunately, dev-player communication can't always be a two-way street. But I promise to give you all the insight that they will allow me.
I feel very fortunate that I've got good solid friendships with Ravenmist, Panthu and Deila and they've all offered their help and support. I value their opinions highly and will be turning to them for advice regularly.
When I started as a dancer at launch, I surely didn't expect that we would come up against the challenges we've faced. When I step back and look at us I see this incredible community of truly awesome people and it is overwhelming to be a part of it. I had strong hesitations about applying for Dancer correspondent. It is a lot of work and I take my commitments seriously. But we are a phenomenon worth fighting for.
I'm devoting this weekend to reading all the relevant info and familiarizing myself with all the processes. I expect that our rockiest stretch of road is right in front of us. I've never been one for taking the easy path..so let's get to work.

I was sleeping and kept hearing messenger sound off and found all these blinking messages from friends and guildies. I was just figuring it had to be an April Fool's joke..then checked my e-mail. Sounds like the policy of telling everyone but the new correspondent who was chosen is still strongly in force. 
It might as well have been April 1 the day I was chosen, cause I managed to get one of the corrs and GarVa. My first post in the corr forum was reported and GarVa was looking into it.

If you workas hardon the forums asyou didin the cantinas of Bria--and I am sure Chilastra now as well--then I know we will have a hard working correspondent. And we need one. But in a different way than before. I think you are the right person for our needs right now, Esharra.

We all reserve the right to harrass Til and Javy, Eshi - why should you be any different now that you are a corr? LOL!
We are all behind you (pushing you as a matter of fact), and you have our support. Now . . . go get those devs!!!
