Thread: Flame or Not, Im really concerned about the CU and Dancing

I have been a dancer since I started on Kettemoor on the first day.
I watched as we all went from minimal flourishes, to ones that looked like a string puppet, to the latest.

I saw the hologrind destroy the cantinas.
I watched as the buffbots started to appear.
/deny was kinda cool
/setperf was neat too.
The Hutt Casino made me drool and long for this well needed content.
But, the one thing that makes my skin crawl is the buffbots.
I had hoped for the end of recursive macros... There was talk about it long ago.
Now i read that the CU isnt adressing the recursive macro, buffbots are going to provide insperation buffs now.
Live entertainers are once again left out of the mix.

What the heck is going on with dev? They could kill buffbots, andhinder doctor buffbots as they are starting to be as common as entertainer one.
Maybe people are right that support the drones.
They are here, adapt or deal. You cant get rid of them.

Maybe its just sour grapes that I saw the cantinas and entertainer class ripped away and turned into an automation script.
Maybe this game is not geared as equally as it was slated in the beginning.
It saddens me that such a large group of people (not as big as some, but not as small as others) are ignored, tossed a token in hopes we be quite for a bit, and looked at lastly.

ps. is it next patch the Hutt casino will be complete? I know it was pushed from 10 to 11 to 12 to 13 to .....

NoT ONLY did they close their eyes to the current AFK problem of Buff Bots, they will actually make more of a problem.
By givng NOVICE entertainers the same buff they give us as master dancers, they belittle the skills we have and all the hard work to get their..and they create a far worse AFK Buff Bot problem.
I AM SO SICK of hearing the spamming buff bots who hog all the best space in the cantinas. I am in there dancing dances I took the time to create, NOT AFK and watching while everyone goes right to the Buff Bot who looks like crud and dances far worse. They do nothing but spam and take business from those of us who actually enjoy the profession.
I AM SO SICK of the way SOE has come up with solutions to combat and AFKers that I am seriously thinking about dumping my nine accounts. YES, I have enjoyed the game that much. But after playing on TC5 and after reading about the farce of a new buff system...I think I need to call it quits. And, YES I am angry and steamed like I have yet to be in this game till now.

If it's causing you alot of angst, I would recommend that you go ahead and do it. 
You can always re-subscribe when the game has taken a positive turn with respect to the Entertainer professions, oravariety ofothers, for that matter.

If things don't look up closer to the time the CU comes about i'll most likely let my second account run out and switch my main character (and my entertainer) back to being a smuggler.

Another thing....making us having to have both musician and dancer to do the fastest buffs pretty much makes it so the buff bots will get all the business and we dancers will stand around watching the buff bots do their AFK thing. SOE DO YOU NOT REALIZE THAT players have created buff bots to be both musician and dancers JUST for that purpose.
Nothing like taking all the fun out of a profession and stomping the crud out of it. STILL STEAMED. MAN you have so gone out of your way to finish off what was left of the dancing profession instead of helping it.

Last news we had:
The Hutt Casino has been shelved. That means they're no longer working on it, but might pull it out, dust it off, and finish it up someday.
Now we have RotW coming out, and a slew of bugs that will probably accompany it. The CU will have to be balanced, rebalanced, and probably republished, since there was no real balancing act to begin with, just the implementation of a new system. I wouldn't expect to see the Hutt Casino released anytime soon.
