Thread: Finding it difficult...

...to remain positive.

I had a very positive attitude going into the combat upgrade. Until I logged into TC5.

I know there are a lot of debates in many different forums about this, but I'm just at a point where I can't deal with much more of this. I'm so tempted to just cancel my subscription, but the better part of me says to just give it time and they will work out the things that inherently wrong. I'm just not sure I have that faith.

It's partially what they are doing to the entertainer professions, partly how dumbed down they've made progression and partially how they have completely messed up grouping and then toss in a whole bunch of other things. The whole thing is just leaving the worst taste in my mouth. I mean, when were we ever limited by levels in our choice of group mates? My brother already wants to quit cause he enjoys learning new profs all the time, while I normally maintain the same one all the time. In the CU system, we'll never be able to group together efficiently and soloing all the time sucks... even more than yelling lvl 5 rifleman LFG.

It's like everything that was good and different about this game is being taken away. I don't care about losing the uber buffs or the uber armor. What I do care about is losing my choices I had before.

Please, someone sprinkle some happy dust and make this horrible horrible new game they are making go away.

I can understand where your coming from, those group level limits if true (haven't been on TC5 myself and only just heard about them in the last thread I looked in) are a horrible idea but I think you should give it some time. This is only beta testing so those limits might be gotten rid of if enough people complain or might never have been intended to make it to live and are just for testing. Wait to see what it ends up like and then decide and be sure to give your feedback on what you think of those limits

Yeah, just submit feedback. Keep submitting feedback. And give feedback again.

Keep a paper and pen by the computer, and everything you think about as it happens, write it down.

Then file your rapport in the daily thread.

Don't repeat yourself - submit the bugs in the bug thread and /bug in game. Submit the feedback to questions on the Focus Thread in the Focus Thread. Everything else goes in the other thread - either a publish thread if your feedback comes from after changes, or otherwise in the Daily Poll thread.

And give reasons why you don't like things - explain how you prefer playing and how this change will interfere with that. Some things are by design, but sometimes they haven't thought of the points you will bring up.

And remember that for all intents and purposes, this is the alpha testing... not the finished product.

When you get too fed up in the buggy environment and can't think straight, test the same newbie profession in live and compare, and make notes. Submit that feedback.

All as impartially as you can. Not that I can always, but I'm trying. And it has gotten A LOT better now. Today when I played it was so much better already. They ARE taking notes.

This is how I think of it: They might have this great idea for how stuff should or could work, but they can't take into account how people will actually use or abuse their great idea. That's why they have opened this up to as many people as possible. They don't have the luxury of time to work on the worst offenders to people actually playing the game - so instead of 10 alpha testers complaining, they get 100 or 1000. So what? Their goal isn't to displease people. Believe me, they do want to make this work.

They might not see things with the same priority as you or I do, but they do want it to work.

See your channels for feedback as voting.

Take note of the things you like as well as dislike. I think it's as important to note what you like - because you might get more of it. But they won't know unless we tell them.

And make use of the survey when logging off. If I'm too fed up with it to post in forum, I put it there. That's why they have it.

They didn't put it there so they could ignore it.

And hey - today I aquired 2 points of battle fatigue!

Plus - I was unable to register with the cloning terminal, which means that my bf will go up that way too!

Yes, I know. I was just very upset last night. I said this in another post, but I think what has upset me the most is that they even had the nerve to put some of this stuff in the CU. It's as if they are completely out of touch with what we really wanted. The put in some great things and then ruin it with other things. Best analogy I can come up with is, well, those medicine commercials. You buy this medicine to get rid of your headache but the side effects are worse than the actual headache. So in a sense, I am getting rid of my headache, but now I have to sit on the toilet 24/7 and I can't eat anything cause of nausea, and my eyes are watering non stop and now I have a skin rash. Well, I'd rather just have my headache back.

I'm trying to be positive about the implementation of the new enterainer buff, but again, I have very little hope they will even do it a fashion that we truely want.

But, I have faith that Esharra will keep them in line.
