It really appears to me, early in my dancing career as I am.. that dancing xp is extremely slow. I was just wondering if, like Mr. Mom, am I doing it wrong?

I flourish regularly, tend to stay in crowded cantinas and dance with the band.. yet with Dance 2 I only get 15 max xp a flourish. Now this was fine trying to get dancing 1 or 2, but when 3 costs 15,000.. thats 1000 flourishes, IF you're constantly at max. Yes, I've heard it goes up with the dances, but then so does the cost to get the next skill level. I appears to me that we are the slowest levelers of the base classes. Is it because of the low risk? I mean I'm not going out getting killed, and I can't critically fail and loose resources, but it just seems abit slow to me. Is there something I'm not doing right? or is the road to Master Dancer expected to be 10hrs (if you're lucky)for half a level? Not whining.. I like the cantinas.. you wont find better role playing. Just wondering

Nope, you're doing it just right.

Dancing is very low difficulty, and the trade-off they require a longer climb to master. If you want it to go fast, find the cantina with the biggest crowd/group. (usually theed, coronet, or bestine)... and dance there.

Each skill level is a little slower than the previous until you get Dance Knowledge IV.

But... ENJOY it. I know its hard, and it just overrides the brain to "get next level, get next level",...

The key is definately finding a large band/group to get with if you want faster exp, you'll go up soo much faster. So just look around til you find a very active cantina.

By very active I mean full groups or nearly full, and with people actively dancing and playing. Exp also goes up with each dance.. so really long as your in a great group, I think it goes by fairly fast. Some seem to have a problem still with exp.. I can only talk from my own experiences tho.

What Ravenmist says is right. The Coronet cantina was packed last night, and I got nearly 20k XP in about ninety minutes of dancing. The entertainers' group never fell below fifteen, and we were maxed out nearly most of the night. Just keep hitting the flourishes, always remember to thank the medics who heal you and you'll level up pretty quick. Good luck!
