Some of you have taken up a combat profession, like me. So I assume you have your dance keys on one bank and your combat stuff on another?

Ever get it mixed up?

"You cannot begin dance animations while you are in combat."
"You cannot begin dance animations while you are in combat."
"You cannot begin dance animations while you are in combat."

Gaahh!

"You cannot begin dance animations while incapacitated."

*sigh*

Last weekend I was in a hunting party on Dantooine and we were having a blast. During camp breaks, the master musician in the group would break out an instrument and I would dance while we rested. Knowing from personal experience (see above) what could happen, I was paying particular attention to the keybanks I had up after the break was over.

But in two straight fights, the musician/carbineer didn't open fire along with the rest of the ranged folk. I was tanking and didn't notice him flop down on the ground, crushed to unconsciousness by the giant monsters. Apparently the lizards we were killing weren't too impressed with his attempts to play SW3 on a carbine
Maybe he just had the wrong end in his mouth?

(Sighs again) The lack of an edit function on these boards is so annoying.

I got interrupted here before I had finished my thought, sorry about that:

As I pulled one of the giant lizards away from the lair, my ranged guys opened fire.

Except for the musician:

"And NOW, ladies and gentlemen! Live on our stage, a horned Piket!"

oops.

The rest of us were laughing so hard I think we all ended up forgetting our specials and getting incapacitated.

Yeah, I've done this. Fortunately, I realized it fast enough to do some quick slash combat commands to get myself through the fight (thankfully, it was only a Diseased Bocatt). I find it happens most when I'm going back to my house from a Cantina dance session, and I forget to change my hotbar from dance to combat.

I have this problem constantly. Fortunately, I don't have a verbal message attached which saves me the embarassment.

What I also have done is get frustrated with the range of my gun as I'm crawling along the ground...closing the distance...boy that thing's awfully close...why can't I fire at it...I'm right next to it, what IS this...

Then I start punching the bad guy, having completely forgotten to re-equip my gun.

Even worse is being overt...dancing in a cantina to have someone come in and blast you while you are stuck in dancer mode with props in hand rather than a weapon. Most annoying... I have been killed twice that way, well once was leaving the cantina on my way to the starport, but I was still stuck in dance mode.

Although I haven't tested it on SWG, yet (due to a ghost in the machine keeping me from using the PC it's on), this puppy allows you to remap most commands in an app. If it works on SWG (and I do mean if), you could remap the toggle between plates with a flick of the wrist or a thwap of the button, to help get around these problems.

Happens to me all the time! Or the opposite...

When I first started, I trained pistol until I had credits to buy knucklers with. I had so few moves that I kept them all on one bank. I starteda flourish,forgot topress shift and tumbled to kneel right in the middle of the dance floor.

A few nights ago I was rehearsing for a fashion show outdoorsand some NPCs who's faction I had apparently displeased rounded the corner & came right at me. I picked up my knucklers hoping they'd just go away. But they kept coming so I typed /stopdance, changed banks...and kept right on dancing. Grrrr. No matter what I did I kept dancing until I re-logged. Fortunately, one of the other dancers pulled a rifle and killed them. Was a nice little laugh.

I've done close, but not quite that. Let's just say I have dance on one bar, combat on another, and yes, clothes on a third. Ever try to open fire and end up putting on and taking off numerous items of clothing? x.x

Whenever I dance in camp I always take out my weapon so I don't look stupid. Nothing more annoying than running off into combat and getting wacked on cause my warning shot isn't working without a gun

I have my combat bar seperate from my dancing bar, so it doesn't happen too much with me. But I do hate doing the exotic 4 dance flourish 1 then get attacked and you're trying to run but you're still flourishing then just die.

He knows I'm never going to let him live it down! What he doesn't know is that when I do it, usually I see "You cannot dance while running" and realize what I've done before anyone else knows. That's much less embarrassing
