I earned my theatrical one dance fairly quickly as i had 900k dance xp saved up. When i went to elarn theatrical 2 she said i needed to practice more. So i went and practiced for over a week. Im at 600k xp again and she still wont teach me. I get the same you need to practice. HOW MUCH XP DOES THIS TAKE?! lol
If it is an xp counter from when you learn theatrical one why doesn't it ake into account my prior xp? Anyone who has any ideas PLEASE respond to this.

You need 400k dance exp and 200k Theatrical exp to my knowledge... so you need to practice (Theatrical)more it appears.

Close.
What you need is 400k of Dancing XP, of which 100k must have been gained doing the Theatrical dance.
What happens is this... you'll dance Theatrical until you've gained 100k XP doing that dance in particular, and you'll get a pop-up telling you that you've practiced enough. After that, you can train Theatrical 2 for a cost of 400k XP.
Make sense? This one's confused a lot of people, so don't worry too much about it.

If someone is capped in dancing exp, how do they get the necessary Theatrical exp, or do they gain it behind the scenes?

I was capped in dancing xp, and rather then take the chanceI just dropped master dancer and techniques 4 and got them relearned...
(i'm always capped on ap too so it wasn't really a problem)

I'm not sure we ever got a definite answer on this question. The times I remember it coming up, people have done what Dofe did - dropped a skill and retrained rather than risk it.
Anyone know for sure?

I honestly believe the Theatrical exp adds up even if dancing exp is maxed.
The way it happened to me is why I think so.
I was dancing Theatrical as much as possible for about four days with maxed exp, then I panicked thinking I was doing it all wrong and dropped master and technique IV. However the box popped up in less then 30K dancing exp later.
So, if it truly takes 100K dancing exp to get it then I must have gotten over 70K while my dancing exp was capped.

Speaking as someone who finally managed to get Theatrical 2 two days ago, and someone who'd already capped her exp over a month ago (I wasn't in the mood to deal with dancing Theatrical for an unknown amount of time, people hadn't had an estimate of how much time it would take dancing V 1.0 to be eligible for V 2.0 at the time), your capped exp does NOT affect how long it will take to get V 2.0.
The game does manage it entirely behind the scenes. You're welcome to drop Tech 4 for your own peace of mind, so you can personally track how the exp is going, but you shouldn't do it simply to "make sure" unless you need to do it for yourself.
Of course, I'm getting dancing exp again and the exp per round is abyssmal with V 2.0. So myself, I don't think I had have been able to handle having to monitor it myself - the small incriments alone would have been enough to discourage me hehe.

This isnt a "new dance " at all. It is simply a rehas of Theatrical 1 except now it pays 20exp per flourish instead of 14 ( ungrouped and alone). This is RIDICULOUS! I have spent more than 800k exp and i get a lousy 20 exp per flourish! Yesterday I asked my man what he got for buffing me (Master Doc and we 2 were grouped ) he got over 1k PER buff!!!! Now really this is so off balance it isn't funny! We are both MKaster doing our work and he gets over 1k exp and i get 20 pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but is anyone else somewhat disappointed that the flourishes for Theatrical 2 are the same as Theatrical 1? I just got Theatrical 2 the other day and was expecting to see new flourishes, but they were the same as Theatrical 1. I just wanted to see if anyone else was disappointed about this.

is the quest working again? I haven't tried yet.
Theatrical and Theatrical2 are quested dances. You can get the quest from the Choreograph lady in most major city theaters (like Theed, Coronet, etc). Last time I checked though the lady had a very odd name something like dancer_trainer_name_here_no_theatrical2_4_goldy_I_hate_cheeseat least that's what it looked like.

Well that's pretty much the norm for our dances. The second form always has the same flourishes as the first, but usually some improvement or variation on the base dance.
To Faedra: Theatrical 1 & 2 are earned through the Theater Manager Quest and are not granted in a Dancer skill box.
