Props have no effect on xp gain... nor do effects.

It also makes no difference if you do all 8 flourishes or just one favorite flourish.

What affects xp gain as a Dancer or Musician is how frequently you flourish, what level dance you are doingand how large a group you are in. The best rate is acchieved by flourishing every 10 seconds if you are a Dancer (or every 5 seconds if you are a musician), doing your highest dance (or using your highest instrument/playing your highest song), and the size of the group you are in.

Furthermore, even if you are doing everything right (highest dance, flourish every 10 seconds, and are in a full group with all 8 performing) the xp is still far less than a combat character can earn in the same amount of time.

I am only getting about 80 exp every 20-30 seconds. While this might sound like alot it really is not I dance for about 5 hours and only get 80k exp. Now I can go out with a combat pro and get 80k exp in a hour what am I doing wrong? I use the best song I can for my level or the best dance I use my props all my effects and all 8 florish. Any idea's on what I can do or is this just how it is?

Welcome to the entertainer professions. You are doing all the right things (highest dance, highest song/instrument) that's just the way it is.
