Ok i have found a few threads on this but nothing solid as the posts i've read say yes but they do not have any replies say 'i did this and it works' or 'don't do it!'

Please could anyone clarify that if i stay as the owner of these two buildings that i can drop MD without fear of destroying the structures.

I beleived they added a patch, so after the restart of a sever, your cantina goes

Are you sure of that? I find it hard to believe that they would cause an entire cantina to vanish, along with everything inside, instantly, without warning, simply because someone untrained a skill.

Let's not spread rumors. If you have proof of this change, please post it.

Um, well, it wasn't like that before the patch, and there's absolutely nothing in the patch notes that says this is true, so I'm fairly certain that when you drop Master Dancer your cantina will not poof.

If you want to transfer it to someone else it'll still have to be to a Master Dancer, Musician or Chef.

No i dont mind keeping ownership and using my lots as its for my guild but i would really like to try something different and i dont want to leave the guild without a cantina.

Heh, I totally understand. Losing a cantina and everything in it would really suck

Well, I can say that when I acquired my cantina from its previous owner, she didn't have any entertertain skills at all. She had given them all up and was trying to find someone to take ownership of the cantina.

Again, this is a couple of months ago. I haven't seen any patch notes at all to say otherwise, so I can only assume that it's still the same.

i can say by experience that this does not happen. i had master dancer, placed a cantina, and then dropped dancer, still have my cantina, and am in the process of returning to master dancer if you decide you don't want it on your lots though, you do have to transfer it to a master chef or dancer (theatre only to a dancer) So....drop away, although i do tell you, you will come back

Musicians can own theatres and cantinas also. I know someone that has a cantina on their lots and has dropped Master Musician. I haven't heard any complaining yet, so I'm assuming that his cantina has not "poofed" with this new patch. Its not in the patch notes, and SOE hasn't given player cities the time of day in months, so I seriously doubt that they would pay attention to this.

I can say that i will be back after i've had a dabble in other areas, i just want to experience new things and i'm sure the lure of the cantina will be back.

Ok i asked a CSR on this one and they agree that if i keep ownership and just drop the skill the buildings will not vanish on server restart.

I will confirm this tomorrow and will let you know if i have bee kicked out of my guild lol.

Ok i am happy to say that even though i dropped my Master Dancer skills the Cantina and Theater i placed is still standing since Friday.

I have kept ownership of the structures and intend to do so until we have a qualified person in guild to transfer them to.
