There have also been many times where we've had a lot of constructive adult rational posts. Have we been heard then either? The answer is no.

I don't think it has to do with spoiled baby vs. rational adult at all. I think it has to do with numbers. We have so few members compared to other professions. And, we are not in professions that people are clamoring to become. If we had one of those two factors in our favor, that's when I believe we would get some attention.

I personally think that I do a good job of being rational most of the time. But, even I get to a point where I get frustrated beyond belief and I rant a little bit. Silence begets ranting. If the devs are truly afraid of us then I think they're in the wrong profession.

I've seen many other rants on many other boards that get dev responses. I'm sorry to say that I don't think it's because we rant. I think it's because we are not a priority in their minds. And, if that is the case, then there's nothing we can do, constructiveor not.

I would have to agree with both of you! I don't think we are a priority at all with the developer people since most of the players in the game would like to become Jedi which entails combat professions (more often than not). Just stand at Coronet Starport and count all the combat professions compared to non-combat!! 90 percent or greater!!

But,Ido honestly think that we can make ourselves a priority for players within the game!! There are so few of us now, and even less "veteran" dancers/musicians that we are a very very rare breed! More so than Jedi!!

So entertain, have fun and perhaps one day the developer people will look our way...the Image Designers, after all, were revamped!! Nothing is impossible!!

Many people here (not just on the dancer forums, but on all of the forums) have taken the idea that the "squeaky wheel gets the grease", and seem to have taken this line of thinking as inherently true. Hence, the underlying attitude seems to have shifted to b*tching and complaining, kicking and screaming for wanted and desired changes, rather than seeking workable solutions in a calm and rational manner. We can look at this as two means to problem solving... one is the spoiled child, the other is the rational adult.

And for a very long time, there has been kicking, screaming, b*itching and moaning right here in the Dancer forums as well. Where do you think it's really gotten us? Has the squeaky wheel gotten the grease? Or has the shriek of those wheels made anyone and everyone simply avoid going near those damnably squeaking wheels that hurt the ears?

I put forth the thought here that the "Squeaky Wheel" philosophy is faulty. It certainly has done us no good.

Yes, I know that it is driven by frustration, and I too am frustrated. As I've mentioned in my State of the Entertainer Professions thread, however, the time has come to move past the emotional shock of frustration, and into the rational problem solving phase. I am not asking anyone to post "happy" posts all the time... in such levels of frustration, that would be either impossible, false, or simply giving the wrong impression that we are indeed quite pleased with everything as it stands.

Rather, I am adding to Panthu's plea for constructive posting regarding our issues. I ask that we all take a moment before hitting that Submit Post button to stop and think a moment... am I being a part of the solution?

My observation is thatthe Squeaky Wheel philosophyhassuccessfully created a situation where red names whole-heartedly avoid these forums. When was the last time you saw a red name post here?Where there is nothing constructive being added, there is no valuable discussion. Only venting, and outright attack. These things are not solutions, they are emotionaloutbursts. They are the approach of the child who has not yet learned to communicate effectively. If you were a dev, would you post here under the current conditions?

In these times, where so often we go unheard due to the excessive squeaking, if we are not a part of the solution, we become a part of the problem.
