A new profession? I have one thing to say about that.

How dare they!

Introducing a new profession and thay haven't even finished this one. Many of our flourishes have never been finished and they have the unmitigated gall to even be thinking of introducing a new profession. The DEVs had better get their act together and learn that the most desired new content in this game is for the exisiting content to be finished and working as promised.

That vaguely rings a bell. I'm not sure if it is new or not but it would be interesting to see how they fit in with the rest of the entertainer professions if it's really a new addition.

Can they buff, if so, which stats?

Will they be equal to Dancers and Musicians in terms of mindwound and BF healing? The combat abilities suggest they will be lacking on the healing side IMO.

Would certainly bring a new feature to cantinas though I'm not sure how well they'd really fit in with bands.

And last thing for now...

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase a "hot act".

A bit of searching for info reveals....

"They are upgrading the game with a lot of new features for various professions - swordsman/Jedi, dancers, acrobats, etc... They had dancers and jugglers in the motion capture studio from around the country."

Supposedly from a Lucasarts e-mail last September. That suggests that the Acrobat was going to be added into the game after release though adding a new profession now does seem a little odd. Maybe it'll be added as part of our upcoming "content".

Ahh more info from JustG last November...

"There is no Acrobat profession for the foreseeable future"

Hmm, sounds like they do plan on implementing an Acrobat profession, sometime, andmaybe they haddevelopment timescheduled for this year and they're just sort of trickling in some parts ready for when they do decide to add it. Either that or time is repeating itself...

"An over-zealous designer accidently put this info on to TC. They have been shot (kidding)"

Overall does sound like identical infomation, I even found a post with the exact same skillboxes list from last year too, probably means nothing if there's nothing else to suggest they're actually adding the profession in at the moment.

This profession has been around for ages, and its not the first time mention of it has shown up in publish code. Once or twice in the past it has shown up in TC code only to be taken out again. It is *very much* a work in progress by the devs but their statements in the past have been that while the do pln on implementing it some day, they aren't until the finish filling out the content for all existing professions.

Based on the information that has been seen in the past, this is likely an Entertainer and Marksman or Brawler hybrid profession. But this, along with dual weilding professions, and several others is not on any schedule to be released at least prior to the Space Expansion. While this will be added in eventually, its not going to be any time soon. In all likelyhood, they just accidentally let this code slip out again with the jedi stuff

I hope they do release it with Publish 9, but hearing that they have let it "slip" before doesn't support it

In any case, it certainly looks like a profession CrazEE would be perfect for

Imagine... a tall fat Ewok throwing a boomerang around the cantina... (floats away on a white puffy cloud)

You know, if they give Acrobats our healing & buffing abilities all the bots will go there and we can have our profession back!

From the skill box names, it doesn't look like Acrobats will buff at all... more like a hybrid brawler/entertainer trained for entertainment during battle.

I don't think automated people can do that too effectively

I can see where your coming from Ravanne but i personally feel that anything that makes the cantinas a more diverse and enjoyable place to frequent can't be all bad. I reall hope they add it.....and give us about 50 more skill points

We Musicians are thinking of asking our next Question about what Force-sensitive entertainers will get.
