Ok, everybody is going a little loopy. We've got old people leaving for the first time, new people getting upset for the first

time, and some old Great Dancers returning to see that the AFK situation is indeed on a whole new level.

Let's take a sec to regroup.

Ravenmist wrote:
Yes I've heard about this as well, I think a lot of this is stuff thats going into the expansion tho, not just updates. My best

guess is that their probably going to finish the dances we have with real flourishes and gives us those in an update and maybe 1

more dance if we're lucky, and save the rest for the expansion. I don't know about the rest of you but I know I'd sure be happy

with that. I haven't heard an ETA on any of this tho, will likely be at least another month or two.

That's way old news. We are closing in on the EP... we seem to be pretty much on schedule. Our new mo capped Dances are big, they

are most likely too big to Download. I can try to ask for a quote, but just guessing from other games, what the pistoleers have been

told about their dual wielding, Ravenmist's old comments, and the little bit of Dev hints from the way back Corre Forum, this looks

like the case to me.

AFK Update

Yes, AFK has gotten worse instead of better. The hologrind helped speed this along. Many people playing Dancer before the hologrind

either did not have the desire to AFK grind, did not know how to automate all of our functions, or didn't do it out of respect for

others even if they did know or kind of want to because they wanted to be accepted by the Ent Community.

Most hologrinders were not held back by the same things most of us were. They were a-ok with pushing the AFK macros to the

extreme and didn't mind sharing them. Bots had been around in private houses or PA Halls before the hologrind. After the holocron

update stating that AFK leveling was allowed as long as it was done with in game tools, we saw a boom in all AFK leveling.

A lot of private Bots became a lot more public about this time. Then we had a large Exodus from the NPC Cantinas. Experienced

Dancers refused to step foot in them and decided it would be better to stay in their new PC Cantinas. Other Dancers were so upset by

the AFK levers and their spam that they just decided to take a break from the game or at least from dancing.

This left Patrons coming to the NPC Cantinas and finding no one to buff them most of the time. Mind Buffs had already become our

main source of income at this point, so maybe we were a little too OK with them having to seek us out.

Enter the new age of Master Dancer Alts and BuffBots... alts, not such a big deal... PC Cantina Bots? Ok, we aren't loving this,

but many of us can deal with it... NPC Cantina Public Buff Bots passing out full buffs for free while advertising their "owner"'s

shop? That's rock bottom. As bad as it can get. We are there. It stinks for us, but that's were we are and how we got there.

We are completely leaving out the numerous Dancers who AFK level out of complete boredom with the leveling process, but who are

very valid Social players and will be ATK once they are Masters... the Masters who dropped but are returning and just can't stand

the idea of taking weeks or months to go through it again when they have seen so many people getting to Master as short as 3 days...

and all of the people who now think "that's just how you level Dancer."

Please, let's not start this AFK vs ATK thing again... at this point, it's just too many people on the AFK side to offend. It

doesn't help the cause anyway... we screamed about it till we were blue in the face, it didn't do a bit of good.

I also think many of the Alts are valid Dancers... a lot of them love the Profession, they just don't see enough content to do it

full time. They are not our enemies, they are usually willing to go with the flow and let the more vocal Dancers call for changes

and improvements. They would still like to see the good things though.

The hologrinders weren't all bad either. I really enjoyed meeting most of them. Many became loyal patrons of mine after they had

moved on and helped make sure I didn't have to move into the poorhouse (along with my awesome Ent supportive PA) when people forgot

how to use the Search feature to find a Dancer.

Just watch who you call out here... we need support from the masses, not people thinking we are snobs.

We need one voice and it really needs to come in the form that will reward the most Social players while hurting the least amount

of the gamebase. We just won't ever win otherwise. Try to be open minded. Social should never mean keeping people out, it should

always mean bringing more people in: Dancers, Entertainers, patrons, whoever... Dancer should mean fun. If that means we have to let

some of the die hard anti-Socials off the hook... well, maybe it's time for that too. Goodness knows their solution to avoiding

interaction has been rough on us.

It's time to get motivated and come together... not start turning this forum into a warzone again. We did that, it didn't work. Let's try this the sane way.

Snobbiness = Lashback

If I read one more snobby post in here, I am going to start hitting the spice.

I'm glad so many people are back, I'm sorry so many people who have fought through the hologrind and stuck with us are now leaving, and I'm glad so many new Dancers are deciding to start posting on our issues... but the whole tone of this forum has greatly dropped in the past few days.

We do not have a Dancer Revamp coming up. We will not be seeing new art till post JTL. Right now, we can talk about some of our bugs and issues and I can do my best to try to help get them attention. If you have a problem that you need Dev attention on, I will be the one passing it on and fighting for it if you post in here. If you do not want to use your Correspondent, you can PM the Devs or TH and try it on your own.

We have multiple threads I have pointed the Devs to on our issues. Some are listed above. Use them or use the PM system, do not think that posting a complaining post in here or "snubbing" other players has anything to do with the Devs using this Profession forum for feedback... it just doesn't.

It does however bring down our community, so let's drop it. Okay?

You call me old again, Panthu, and I'll come over there and prove to you exactly how vigorous I am. And don't think that correspondent tag is going to save you.

Panthu, I absolutely adore you. It's a great post and you make a great point. It seems like you put a lot of energy and effort into getting this proffession the attention that I believe it deserves. I've seen a lot of constructive conversations taking place in these boards and while I have nothing to add to this one at the moment, I thought I'd still give you a big /hi5 for having started it.

"and some old Great Dancers returning to see that the AFK situation is indeed on a whole new level."

That's me. I return to find the situation not just the same as before I left, but much worse. Let's face facts - the developers don't care enough about entertainers to bother to fix the professions. It's as simple as that. Given the lack of any progress over the last six months, anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves. The developers keep dangling baby carrots in front ofthe donkey (we're the donkey), and we keep pulling the cart forwardhoping to finally get a little nibble. I think it's time we took a bite out of the guy who's dangling the carrot.

"even the Smugglers have been pushed back. Surely you can understand how massive that is... Han's own profession! "

Well the difference is that we KEEP being pushed back. This is not just a thing that's been happening to us for a month or so. This has been a continuous thing for almost a year. What will the reason be next time? Will our concerns ever get to the front of the line? It seems like there's always going to be some issue that's just a bit more important. Hell, what profession is less important than dancer in the developers' minds??? If we're always the least important to them, there will always be some reason not to fix our class. This time it's the new expansion. Next time it'll be some fix that has to be done to the limited edition goggles, for crying out loud. How much less respect could we possibly get from the devs???

"We have 2 mega game wide revamps coming; Combat Balance and GCW. We might see some improvement in the CB *crosses fingers* and we will for sure in the GCW revamp"

Why? What have dancers got to do with combat balance? What have they got to do withthe GCW??? These are PvP issues, and ifthere's a crunch to get issues fixed in time (as there always is)I guarantee youthe devs are going to drop non-fighting issues first. I stand in awe at your optimism, but I fear you may be basing your views on little more than adesperate hope that everything will be alright in the end. Tell me, when the GCW revamp comes along and we haven't even been thrown a bone - whenI come along and say 'I told you so', will you still be the optimist? Will our fixes still be 'just around the next corner and over the next hill'?

I'm really not trying to push your buttons here. It's just that this has been going on for a year. What evidence can you show that the developers are in the least bit serious about fixing our profession. I just don't see anything to make me less cynical. I wish I did.

We were clearly told that "PvP is the elder game". It seems to me SWG ismore oftenreferred to as a "MMOG" then a "MMORPG". But I can't recall a game where you can find such wonderful social tools such as dancing, music, changing appearance, and changing clothing, We have technique effects, droid effects, and holoemotes. We can own and decorate a cantina. We're integrated into the game with heals and buffs.

Sure, our profession has a boat load of problems, but unless someone has something better to offer, I'm willing to stick it out and hope that once the "elder game" is completed thenour profession will get some attention.

A side note, I have no problem with different play styles, but I do have a problem with buff vendors, and Ihope that's notbeing snobby.

I spentmore time writing up my last requested form for the Devs than I have on some jobs that pay!

TH has used so much paper printing off and handing out my emails that the EPA has threatened to take action and Greenpeace is planning a sit in!

I had multiple Devs talk to me live, in person, face to face about the threads linked to above.

They actually fight over us!

We are not in individual revamp mode right now... even the Smugglers have been pushed back. Surely you can understand how massive that is... Han's own profession!

Image Designers made a lot of head way in their much needed revamp, now we are in a place where all Ent branches are in the same boat. We are fighting the Devs over what a Social role should mean, they are fighting each other... and with posts like these, we end up fighting each other.

We've got to pull together! I know you want to take action, but this is the way to do it.

We have 2 mega game wide revamps coming; Combat Balance and GCW. We might see some improvement in the CB *crosses fingers* and we will for sure in the GCW revamp. It is very important to our cause not to alienate anyone right now (Devs or other players)... we are much more likely to get the attention and improvements we need if we have wide support. We have to think about how to improve our role while making a better game for everyone.

The AFK situation can't be about "us against them"... we won't win that way. If you want their ear, we have it. Now let's make good use of it.

This is a MMORPG. Nothing ever gets 'completed'. Be prepared for a long long wait.
