And the results are in!
For reference, here was the original question posted to poll our community. Voting isclosed, and a summation is included below.

Poll for the Community:
If... and I say if... (let's not start right out with any false hopes here... recipe for disaster..) it turns out that the coding work to get our Formal and Lyrical dances up and running again is something that could be worked out in the shorter-term for us, would that be a nice thing to work with while we await the Hutt Casino and the end of the hologrind?
Here are the categories:
1. YES!!! If I had Formal and Lyrical (1&2) displaying correctly to others, I could use these in my dance performances to have more fun.It would be a nice addition to help tide things over until the Hutt Casino is really ready to launch, and the end of thehologrind clears up our cantinas a bit.
2. NO!!! I do not think that getting our dances fixed would be of any use to my gameplay or fun, even if it is one of the things that might be possible towork in before JTL.
Hard Numbers
I counted, and recounted, thevotes provided by participating dancer community members. As always, margin of error is +/- 3%.And the results are:
1. YES!!! 6 votes
2. NO!!!2 votes
3. Other 4 votes
Whereas there was no "Other" category for polling, 4 contributors left comments outside of the realms of this poll, and so were tabulated in the final tally as an "Other".
Discounting "Other" comments as erroneous to polling shows a 75% in favor, 25% opposed.Inclusion of the "Other" category votes as statements of non-"Yes" answers shows an evenly split50% response for and against the idea that having 4 dances become useful would be of any benefit whatsoever to dancers. On the other side, inclusion of "Other" category responses as Yesindications that some measure of small changes while waiting for larger issues (even if not specifically the repair of Formal/Lyrical base dances) shows an 83.33% response that such smaller fixes in the shorter term would be helpful to fun and morale of the profession.
Commentary
An interesting outcome, to say the least. As a data collector, I was surprised to see the number of responses that indicated, within the contexts of this poll, that so many community members did not see the repair of broken dances as beneficial to the dancer profession. However, with a total of 12 responses being garnered, we must also realize that we are seeing a very small sample group, and these percentages are possibly inconclusive due to that very small sample size.
There is another take on our "margin of error" concept. In review, it seems that several of the responses did not take the actual question directly into account. Some of the "Other" responses, and oneof the "No" responses, indicated (in my interpretation)that these comments were cast with the idea that the polled question would not completely fix the dancer profession. As the poll pertained to "improvements", and did notintend forcomplete repair, we could potentially increase the margin of pollingerror to as high asnearly 50%.
Conclusion
It is my personalfindings that the dancing community has become even more divided on issues, and/or that the nature of this poll was largely misunderstood and taken beyond the polling contexts(accounting for the discrepancies of margin of error possibilities). However, there was a measure of response that even if the polled question itself was not directly desired, that some measure of smaller fix/change would be seen as a step in the right direction.
Is the community still so divided that we cannot have a single voice as to what small change would be desirable in the short term? Is the community still so divided that we cannot have a single voice as to what larger changes we would desire for the long term? These will be my next "questions to self", and will certainly drive much contemplation.
I would like to thank all who participated in this poll, and hope that you all remain active contributors on our forum.

Thanks for doing this Deila. I hope we get a better turn out for the next one.

Deila, perhaps it was just a matter of bad timing, what with FanFest and the disappointing revelation that we were not getting anything to speak of anytime soon. I personally think it warrants another try - and maybe it could be stickied for a week so everyone has the chance to see it.

My suggestion is to find a site that maybe offers free polls where someone only has to select an option (sorta like the ones at the top of the page the devs put up) and place a link to it. The problem with a poll where people have to post their responses is:
1) It's not anonymous. Your name is next to your vote. Far more people will respond to an anonymous poll.
2) It's far more work to sumbit a post than to click a radio button and hit 'submit'.
3) People don't want to have to defend themselves or their vote, and things can tailspin rapidly on the forums here at times.
