Hi,
I copy this from another thread, maybe it helps, and I
add group buff notes to the end:
Here is my way to buff (singleplayer, active buff):
a)
make sure client is not watching or listening anyone,
best is to let him use /stopwatch and /stoplisten
b)
make sure, that I am not listening or watching, not
that I get a buff in this moment, and so am not able
to buff
c)
start dancing or playing music, with music I dont use
a Nal or the Ommni Box (moveable, disruptable)
d)
tell client to watch or listen, best with unequipped
weapon (clapping animation!)
e)
do /setperform
f)
I start timer, manually (timestamp is your friend) or with
/addalarm, you can also use a /pause 240; /tell Buff is done or
such... I go for 4 minutes, just added time to be sure to give
max time buff
g)
I start my macro:
/flo 1
/flo 1
/flo 1
/flo 1
/flo 1
/pause 8
--repeat macro with either
/macro -name-of-your-macro
or
/ui action ToolbarSlot#
(the usual way, please check my spelling, doing this out of head )
h)
wait for timer, chat, make fun
i)
tell client to /stoplisten or /stopwatch
j)
wait for confirmation that buff is done okey
k)
stop dance or music
Somewhere in between I take care, that I get tipped
Of course this burns action quite fast, I can go without heals
with music, but when I dance, I need either a buff or 1-2 heals.
Most of the time the customer can throw 1-2 heals my way
If you want to do groupbuffs, maybe go for 6 minutes with the above
macro. Make sure all are /watching and that you get your action healed
or at least one of your secondarys buffed.
Note:
This is just "Buff Dance", it is not meant to be asthetic or art.
This is just the way the buff works (most of the time) for a full time.
Please try and give me feedback...

because you burn action so fast.. i find ifi can drink some 'breath of heaven' before i try to buff it really helps with the action if you dont have someone there to heal you or are buffed your self.

Hiya Phedra,
Any master dancer can give a full 2 hour buff. It all comes down to flo count.I think the magic number is 120 (Lei is sure someone will correct her if she is wrong :smileywink
So you can adjust yor pauses in between to compensate for any action modifiers you may have, so chin up and put your best foot forward.

I am the sole dancer for my guild. When they ask me to dance for the group buff the most I can buff them for is 1 hour for 10 mins of watching. I am Zabrak, never opened a holcron, and have been a dancing since launch. People have even started going to this dancer on corelia becasue she can do "the two hour one" seriously how do you do it?! Most i can get on people is 1 hour 10 mins. Its really frustrating because i used to dance for a whole cantiana full of folks nightly but now Im lucky if some one even come in anymore. Seriously i just want to cry sometimes. I worked so hard to get master dancer and all I have to show for it is about 35 worthless macros.
Please help me become a uber buffer for my guild once again.
Thank you
Hugs

120 what?
and I thought they had to watch for 10+ minutes?
how does someone get a 2 hour buff in 3 mins 10 seconds?
As I said up above, I had one of my guild mates test it out and I had them watch for 15 minutes and only got 1 hour 13 minutes out of it. I have my secondary green stats maxed out like everyone asks. I went to find some food you were refering to only to find out it costs 100k a case onmy server *checks purse* yep 3700 credits ... not enough. I only know how to danc e and a little bit of one hand sword.
I cant ever get a streight answer out of any on how to achive what people expect of me. every one says it so easy but people also speak as though I should know how to do this since birth and ty tak in cryptic terms like "you must never know my buffing secret or you will take my business"
Im still a little frustrated can you tell?

120 refers to the number of flourishes (or flos) that the viewer has to experience in the buffing period in order to get the full 2 hour buff.
Flourishing is a little strange when trying to understand it. The system will see exactly 5 flourishes in a row before it 'loses track' of them. Any string of more than 5 immediate flourishes go unnoticed by the system. After an 8 second pause, the system will begin to read them again. So it goes like this:
You perform a flourish.
You perform a flourish.
You perform a flourish.
You perform a flourish.
You perform a flourish.
8-second pause
You perform a flourish.
You perform a flourish.
You perform a flourish.
You perform a flourish.
You perform a flourish.
8-second pause
You perform a flourish.
You perform a flourish.
You perform a flourish.
You perform a flourish.
You perform a flourish.
So on, and so forth. It takes approximately 3 minutes and 10 seconds to reach a count of 120 flourishes and the full 2 hour buff that results.
Your extremely basic macro will be the following:
Macro Name: QuickBuff
/flo 1;/flo 1;/flo 1;/flo 1;/flo 1;/pause 8;/macro QuickBuff
That way, you loop the macro and repeat the process (see above illustration) for 3:10. You'll have to watch the clock this way and give your own instructions, but that's the method to pulling of a fast, full buff.

Doing this, however, will absolutely drain your action bar. You'd most likely have to be buffed (Quickness only) or using Accaragm in double doses to maintain the speed of flourishes. Practically impossible to do it while afk, so no use sticking that in a buffbot

By the way, it is not necessary to use a buff macro even - you can do it manually. I would actually prefer using a buff macro, but I've been too lazy to make one. Be sure that you either group with the person you want to buff or use the /setperform command, which you probably already know about. Make sure they /watch you, and then pick an appropirate dance. If you have entertainer crack (i.e. Accaragm) take a shot or two as you need to or if you're already action buffed, you can pick whatever dance you want - either that or if your buff target can heal you while you dance. If you're not buffed, and can't get heals while you perform then I suggest using basic or rhythmic (yes - novice entertainer dances - you can upgrade to basic2 or rhythmic2 if you can't tolerate going that low). The reason I suggest this is that these dances have the lowest action cost and the choice of dance has a negligible effect on the buff. If you still do a higher level dance, then you're going to run out of action and have to stop at some point to rest and regain energy. This will still not hurt the buff as long as the other person doesn't do a /stopwatch while you're recooperating. It just takes longer to finish and can be a little more confusing. Once you've got an audience and picked a dance, get yourself some kind of timer and just flourish away. I generally try to hit a flourish about every 1 or 2 seconds and just keep it up for about 4 minutes or so (stopping to rest in the middle if you have to to regain action, but be sure to pause your timer if you stop). Note that this means that you will not see every flourish you hit because you will often be in the middle of one flourish while you hit another, but this is ok - it still "counts" up to 5 flourishes in 8 seconds. I have done it in about 3:10, but I generally prefer to be safe and go a little over in case I'm not consistent enough in my flourishes or start chatting at the same time.
(As has been mentioned, this breaks down into that magic number of 120 flourishes or whatever, but you don't have to worry about the exact details of that.) At this point let the other person know that he or she is done and that they should do a /stopwatch, which you also probably know. At this point they should have a 2 hour buff - or they may have no buff at all. That happens sometimes, so start over at step 1 and repeat. There doesn't seem to be much we can do about that other than smile and move on.
I hope this helps you out some. Feel free to bug us some more if you're still having troubles. Keep on dancin'!
