i dont know whether this has been brought up before, but it hasnt been on panthu's list of issues, or any bit of it mentioned anywhere on these forums (i dont generally check the musicians forums, so maybe someone said something there) but, the usage of entertainer droids as the similiar fuction to doctor droids -- ie, heal and buff outside of cantina.
i was dancing by a doctor comrade of mine in the mining outpost on dantooine where he had his line going, i had my droid doing effects behind him, and i was just dancing for the sake of dancing, and to keep him company. and oddly enough, i got tipped quite a bit just for chilling out and dancing and occassionally flirting with customers. i wasnt looking for tips, i was just dancing, so i was shocked. the reason is that i was not providing any services such as healing or buffing to these people, and yet, i was still getting tipped for it.
i thought i would ask if
a - this is already possible with a droid for entertainers (i dont think it is, but i might as well double check)
b - if it isn't, will it ever be? and....
c - if it will or wont ever be, is this something any of us would be interested in, dancers and musicians alike. would this hurt our profession or enhance it? of course, part c2:
c2- if in the event of this being included as a feature for us, would we expect to be able to heal both wounds, battle fatigue, and buffs? currently, from last i checked, you could not heal battle fatigue in camps (and who uses camps anymore anyway? o.O) so would or should battle fatigue healing be left strictly to cantinas?

Hmmm.... /ponder
I'm sure it's been tossed about before, but I really do like the idea of field healing. Battle Fatigue being reserved for only cantinas would provide reason enough to keep those inhabited, but on-site healing and buffing by an entertainer may make us more of a necessity and less of a convenience when it comes to the wishes of the community.

We already provide on-site buffing and mind wound healing in camps, currently. That of course means not in a city, but in a city there is usually a building that can be used. It does make us dependant on scouts to be able to do this, but the devs are all about profession inter-dependance, so I'm not sure if we will see a droid to help wound healing like doctors have. Remember too, while doctors can just take out a droid and smack on a heal or buff, our healing and buffing requires time to apply, so it makes more sense to have it in a camp.
It has, however, been a popular request to get a droid that entertainers can use to heal out of a cantina or camp.
Taking battle fatigue healing out of the cantina is another issue. To be honest, it's one I'm personally not sure either way on. There are those who say the proliferation of the medical droids is what killed the med centers. I know it's certainly been a long time since I've been to a med center - there's just no reason to go anymore. If BF healing were possible anywhere with the help of a droid, people would probably just get healed by someone outside the starport. Droids DO take batteries, of course, so perhaps this wouldn't be such a bad thing, allowing live entertainers a chance to shine. I suspect that it would, however, kill the cantinas as a place to heal in the long run.
BF healing in camps has also been discussed. It's currently a no from the devs. One possibility that has been suggested is allowing BF healing only in the high-tech field base (The highest level ranger camp) giving both entertainers and rangers something extra.

As Tiaga said, it's not possible with a droid. Actually, being able to buff isn't that big of an issue because there are many buildings that allow you to do so, and you can also do so in camp. It's very rare that you have a hunting party of more than 3 or 4 where at least one person doesn't have novice scout skills, so it's usually not too big of an issue. I'm actually a big fan of interdependence, so I like being able to buff in camps.
On the other hand, it is on my wish list to also be able to cure battle fatigue in camps. I'm not so sure it would be that big of an issue for the Cantinas. After all, everyone knows that the more people in the group, the easier it is to get experience. So, I am pretty sure the Cantinas will always have decent crowds of entertainers if for nothing but the experience. As far patrons, that may be another issue. However, I think that if BF were relegated to only what they are now AND camps, you'd still have just as many people stopping by. Again, the combat professions that have to stop into a Cantina don't generally bring their own personal dancer or musician with them. If they did, then you'd see small hunting parties congregating at the front of the cantinas with their dancer/musician performing. But, you just don't see that. I firmly believe the Cantinas are not going to suffer if we add that added perk of entertainers being able to heal BF in camps, but that's just my opinion.
And, as far as wish lists go, while I'd like to see BF healable in camps, it's not really at the top of my list. I would rather see the devs concentrate on those major issues that are currently killing the profession, most notably the buffbot.
